what doesa swap cost these days?

hey all i was just wondering what a rsx type-s swap would run me now? i have an auto, not sure if thatll cost too much more but i know id need the cluth pedal and a new shifter. also, anyone know if honda makes any good auto tranny to hook up tot he rsx type-s engine? i can drive stick, and i think im pretty good at it, and driving a stick car every day i know i could get really good. but thing is that i dont like the idea of always drivinga stick shift. sometimes theres just those nights where im tired anddriving home and i really dont feel like doing much just get home lol. plus i drive in traffic rather often so thatd suck too.

edit:
oh and plz dont give me a ballpark like 5000-10000. im hoping to get some responses from ppl who have done this and can give me a price range where its give or take a few hundred dollars, not a few thousand thnx.

you can get the full swap on ebay for $5k-6k with about $300-400 shipping. but all the swaps I have seen have been for the 6spd manual. converting an automatic car to a manual will be a pain in the *** and expensive. you might find a swap with an automatic somewhere, but it won't be on ebay. and you want a JDM engine cause they are better and more powerful.

because you have to cut a hole in the firewall and mount all the clutch pedal stuff. then you'd have to get a harness for the automatic trany cause the computer controls it. there is a plug on the ECU just for the automatic trany.then you have to run all the clutch lines and shifter cables. trust me, it wouldn't be fun.

u dont have to cut anything. the same body was used for the manual and the automatic civic. if u check the autos even have a place for the cluth pedal to go. u can use the auto ECU since it actually has extra stuff compared to the manual, the check engine light will just turn on.

hehe cut hole in the firewall, this aint no domestic

Your gonna be running the RSX ecu so you won't have to worry about check engine lights. And get your harness from hasport, they know how to change a car from auto to manual their k20 swapped civic was originally a auto.

yeah something just caught my eye. a complete T28BB greddy turbo kit for 3100. might just go with that instead of the all out swap. if i swap then id want to buy this and that to make it worth it and in the end id just end up spending too much lol. hey hawk, ic u do circuit racing? i was wondering how would an auto LX turboed do? im hoping to make around 150-155whp and im planning on upgrading suspension if i do go this route. what other cars would be in my class? and is it worth it to go this route with an auto? i know i wouldnt kick much *** but i just love circuit style racing, non-nascar type though lol, no ovals for me.

well theres no classing in the open tracking i do, they judge you by skill not on your car. I've seen alot of autos out on the track, they're obviously slower than the manual car of the same spec, but speed really doesn't matter in open tracking, your out there just to have fun.

I might be turning my car into a Honda Challange car once it's paid off, just to see how it can compete, then i'd be racing for times and against other people.
