i was in the shower thinking about how much i want a turbod k20, after reading the thread from the guy that has done that and said it cost him about 15000 after everything i though, a built + turbod d17 wouldnt cost 15000, would it? sure our hp/torgue is way lower of a base than the k20, but being built we could boost to the moon and surpass the k20 @ 7psi. maybe?

just do the swap first then go from there. i dont think you'll be disappointed. Just guessing but if you put 10g into a swap or 10g into the D i think you'd have higher #s with the K20. but the lower you get the closer the two will be in HP #s since the swap will about = the turbo.

3500 for turbo
3000 misc
14100 total
put the 7800 for the k20 install into the d17 internals
the rest would be about the same as the k20 but maybe a little less cause of less fab.
then youd have a stock internaled k20 boosted @ 7psi vs. a built d17 @ 15 or so psi.
just thoughts out loud...

or you could just buy my car which allready has a turbo K20A3 in it. Im looking for $10,500 for the car. It has a K20A3(RSX) swap, with greddy turbo kit, and hondata K-pro. I pretty much have lost all desier to finish the car and am not really into the whole car thing any more. Still needs a front mount (which i have,but not installed) and a bov. I guess i should of put this in the for-sale section but oh well. I am not on this site very often anymore so if i dont answer you back i will eventuly.

there is a couple downfalls with putting that much money to the D17.
With that much power u will not get any traction and if you do, it will be just a matter of time till your tranny breaks and/or u snap the stock axles.

arent there some aftermarket axles for our cars? (d17 i mean). Cause I am looking into all the turbo n stuff...I never even thought about our axles...oh no!.....No replacement for them?

i dunno, here is fresno options are limited. there is only one shop that does swaps and that was the price that i was quoted for everything: engine, mounts, install, harnesses etc...

Yeah - but did that come with the subframe, wiring harness, ECU, front knuckles, axels??

I read the article you posted earlier. There is a lot of work that needs to be done to the K24 block tho. Plus you need a lot of the K20 parts (oil pump, intake, etc)....cost may go up significantly after all of those are tacked on.
people. listen. if your gonna spend 15k above what you paid for the car 15k. then you have a 30k econobox that is fast on the track but still a grocery getter.
spending about 5k is reasonable but the price of the car in mods. come on!
