H22 in our vics
Has anyone on here ever tried to put an H22 into one of our vics? Would it fit? Is there a mounting kit for it? Just askin because there are plenty of 2001 to 2002 H22's out there and the prices are a lot less than the K20's.
Legality-wise I'd assume you'd be okay, because I suppose they did produce the Prelude up until 2001, so if you swapped a 2K1 Prelude engine into a 2K1 Civic you'd be alright.
It hasn't been done before though, so you'd need disgusting amounts of custom mounts and whatnot. Plus I'm not even sure if the engine would fit at all, as it is rather large.

cheaper and better to just get a k24. the H and b series are now considered dinasours. there are more parts for the k series. the supply of b and h series is rapidly declining
There is a local Shop around were i live that claims they are about to do one and i know the kid who plans on having it done whether or not it actally happens is gonna be a mystery for a while i think........ and by the way you can pick up a strong JDM h22 for around 2000 which isnt bad.......and they arent technically dinosaurs...plenty of parts for em and they are super super strong

yea an h22 isnt really going to fit into our car, they are too big, and from what I have heard, the h22 engine in a civic is only good for going straight. A guy at this shop around here put a h22 type S in his hatchback civic and he said the ride was only good going straight, but when turning it sucked.
very true, it kills the weight distribution...my friend (domestic head never owned an import) is buying a CRX this weekend and wanted to do an all motor H22 in it, i told him no after how much he hates the way he dodge dakota handles, i said that crx would be just as bad.

K20 in theory is stronger stock for BIG boost... but H22 is a HELL of a motor... it will fit with the right mounts, as it fits in 4thgens... which have smaller engine bays by quite a bit.. and im almost POSITIVE it is smaller in over all size than the K24... k series stuff, ESPECIALLY due to being the oposite way around is bigger in our engine bays.. if you want man, go for it, you can get clean a*s H22 typeS motors from japan for CHEAP... and EVERY major manufacturer from OBX crap all the way up to JUN tunes these motors... i LOVE em...
