try local junkyard. check out this link, worldwide junkyard. http://car-part.com/
^^definately is IMO, just get a D17 for like $400 then use some extra cash to put in pistons, head gasket, rods, etc. The small things to help strength your motor...but im sorry to hear that, and hope you find a new engine soon

how the hell did that happen? damn! now I'm skurd to put my turbo on!
I spent all my dough up to the last penny on my kit... and if I blow my engine then, i'm in serious financial trouble

I helped civicmexicano setup his turbo, the mechanics and electronics were installed perfectly we triple checked everything. This problem was for sure becuase of the electronic boost controler configuration, anyways we hope its only a blown head gasket...
yeah it was that greddy profec E01, supposely that thing had already "learned" that it must only peak at 7 psi, and then it suddenly spiked 16 psi, dont buy that **** you are better off with a manual boost controler

hmmm. im gonna have to say that the boost controller was improperly tuned cause thats a pretty nice one and it should not be spiking like that.
the e-01 also has a warning level and will start flashing when a spike is taking place if you actualy read the instructions not sure what page but its in there it even has an arrow that shows where the end of the line for safe boost at the level you want is.
page 28 i just looked it up

its an actator, and suposedly the controller learned 6 psi corectly cause the day befor it wouldnt go higher than 7.5 psi when learning...
the next day on the first full throttle run it blew...
if it was the head gasket could it also loose oil pressure??

do the SF kits have external gates??? I have a Deltagate and mine you turn the screw thingy into the wastegate more to let less boost in... i believe that's how is works at least... and the farther out it is the more boost it'll hold...
If you're lucky, it will just be busted ringlands on the pistons on the intake side. If it is, ask these guys http://www.theoldone.com/ to make you some new ones, if they already haven't made some for the D17.
Put new pistons in....
fix boost problem and tune well.
enjoy.
