Rep Power: 272 comptech supercharger for civics
well, i got bored and emailed comtech because they seemed like they are the kind of company that may be interested in being the 1st to make a supercharger for our cars... but no luck this time, heres the email i sent and their reply.

am a 7th gen (2001-2004) Honda Civic owner, and I know that there are very limited possibilities for forced induction on this particular vehicle. I also know that the civic is a pretty common car. I am hoping that maybe your Research and development department may be interested in just looking into the possibility of making a supercharger kit for this car. There has been a lot of hope in the 7th generation civic crowd that someone would make a reasonably priced supercharger and or turbocharger (i know that your main specialty is superchargers). But anyway, I'm not trying to ramble on, but i do know that there is a large group of civic owners that would be interested if you decided to look into the matter. www.7thgencivic.com is the website, and htere forum section is where you may want do a little looking around. ( i suggest searching the word "supercharger" on the forum search). Thank you for even opening this email to listen to a potential customer. - Alex Narconis, 2003 Honda Civic Lx
----Their reply (very quick reply by the way)---
At this time have no plans to produce a supercharger kit for the 01-04 Civic. We have tried different parts on the car and found that the cost was going to be to great for the minimal horsepower we see. So at this time we are manly focusing on the 04> TL, RSX, CIVIC SI, TSX, and 03> Accord. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

SO, i guess yet agin no superchargers for us for a while, or maybe indefinitely.
Oh well. it was worth a shot.

Rep Power: 323 Keep trying!!! Lol... I mean, a lot of manufacturers produced stuff for the D16 after its production run.
If they did make a supercharger kit I know I would buy it because no one has anything out yet. Well, I'm just going to wait untill someone does make something...

Rep Power: 0 old news. the way our engine bay is laid out, it will be a lot of modification to get a centrifugal supercharger in there. as far as the roots-type, i wouldn't bother with it.

Rep Power: 0 For a centrifugal SC, if you got rid of A/C or power steering and made a custom bracket to mount SC, it could work, right? Maybe use VAFC or SAFC for fuel management at low boost, and maybe even an intercooler.
That would be cool. Wish I had skillz and/or money.

Rep Power: 0 ok guys i have emailed dezod, jackson racing, and no go. procharger doesnt have an email address that i saw and i think vortech said theres no room for their centrifugal supercharger. so i thought about this what if we all emailed jackson racing over and over again and bombed them with emails and see if theyll cave in and say ok well do it. what do you guys think, i mean with all the people that want one we could convince them if we got enough emails.

Rep Power: 0 Turbo's have the ability to make more HP then a SC because they are not parasitic on the engine. SC do not have the same amount lag associated with a turbo, so the power can be made faster, but you arent going to be making as much power as a turbo could.

Rep Power: 272 no offense but it would take probably like 500 people honestly, cash in hand ready to buy a kit for them to even think about it seriousle. i just emailed comptech as a "what the hell" kind of thing. i think that with our throttlebody and intake manifold being set up the way that it is, is whats really keeping them away from the d17, but hey, im down for the thread/bomb/dealio
