Unhappy HKS Manifold & T28 Turbo??

from what i got from my last thread the cast iron manifold is the way to go if you want durability. the only cast iron manifold i know of is the hks. it has a T25 flange on it. I've searched and heard that a t25 is gonna get me tq and low end but no top end or large numbers. So i wanted to know if a T28 will bolt on to the hks manifold.Anyone know? anyone have a setup with hks manifold? feedback? Holla

It appears the T28 shares the same flange as a T25.

good link, thanks. but is that true that a t28 is gonna spike and loose efficency at 10psi? anyone out there running a t28 set up? what numbers are you putting down and what psi are you running?

I have that setup...and yes it bolts perfectly. It is the same flange on a T25 and T28. As far as consistency i havent ran 10psi but did run 9psi twice and loved it, the strongest pull was from 3500-5600rpm then it tapered off. I wouldnt run a T28 over 10psi just because it is a smaller turbo and isnt made to run high psi levels(15psi max i believe). If you are planning on running over 10psi down the road get a T3 or T3/T4, they're more laggy but can handle running high psi. I dynoed my car with a tuned SAFC at 6psi and made 166whp and 153lb ft torque. I was impressed, the low end is awesome. I slam the throttle cruising at 30mph in 2nd and the turbo spools instantly and the tires bark! its awesome

so the hks manifold wont work with a t3 turbo? I really want to get it, but i want a t3 turbo. civicskater what's the ar ratios of you're turbo. Its hard to figure out if a 60 ar is too big. I saw one turbo with a 48ar trim for the turbine and 60 for the compressor. I think that setup would be the ****.

No it will not work with a T3, the turbine is .48 a/r and the compressor is .53 a/r. I believe the Super 60 T3 that SF uses has the same a/r you are talking about, its spools pretty quick and makes big power

^yah i was thinking that, but it sucks cuz you cant use it with the hks manifold. I guess i could get the boost motorsports one, but i dont want to have to pay to weld the flange on. Kinda sucks.
