Question Turbo manifold

Any opinions on the rev hard manifold or the hks manifold?

Anyone selling their manifold?

hks manifold is just log type, not really that great.. its cast iron though so it's less resistant to cracking under heat.

Rev Hard if i'm not mistaken has bad external wastegate position. It's positioned over port 1 so the other 3 ports don't flow through the wastegate.. but the rev hard is better than the hks.

If i'm not mistaken it's actually not because it is made in a cast (hense cast iron) and it doesn't have the welds that a normal tubular manifold would have.

Put it this way - if I knew THAN what I know NOW - I would have bought a Max-rev stainless log manifold....The Max-rev manifold is awesome for a log manifold....I just wish I would have gone that route instead of SF - Its been 5 months since I placed my inital order.....

That's correct. When I was racing DSM's, cast manifolds were far superior to any tubular manifolds. Everybody used them. I never saw a tubular manifold last longer than a year, it always cracked at the weld. So much heat is generated in these motors, when I would get on it hard at the track and then pop my hood open, the manifold would be glowing orange. If and when I installed a turbo on my 04 civic, you can bet I'll be using a cast manifold.

Also, if you are using an external wastegate, it's better to have it come off the collector, not a single runner. I had both, the single runner gate was loud and obnoxious, the collector gate had a more even, quieter sound.

Max-rev's manifold is okay except placement of the external wastegate flange leaves something to be desired.. Other than that though the thing seems to be okay.. unless it's rev-hard i'm thinking of.. please correct if i'm getting the rev's mixed up..

OK no. I owned a MaxRev manifold the wastegate flange is right in the middle, there is no better placement then where it currently sits on the manifold. Also bleeding gases off of 1-2 runners is fine for our civics, when you get into 400 HP then you upgrade.

jwcardy is on a distinguished road
here is the manifold and downpipe....the manifold cost $399 and the downpipe is $379....i am propably going to get both of them until i can finish up my custom manifold...damn welder wont make time to finish it...it is started, but needs some more work....

i am pretty sure that maxrev might cut a deal if you order them both together...
