why is everyone selling their turbo kits?!
ive noticed lots of SF turbo kits FS... why is everyone getting rid of them?
if i had the money... oh if i only had the money.. and time
if i had the money... oh if i only had the money.. and time
i wonder..
i wouldn't know, because i don't have mine yet. all i know is that with the wait these things are taking, it'd better be the best damn 3 grand i ever spent
some of them are doing swaps, and others just need the money, i guess

maybe people are finding out there isn't really a bolt-on turbo kit
there are always going to be problems from time to time
especially if the car didn't come that way stock
It really is a lifestyle as someone once had in their signature

knock on wood.... i havent had any real problems yet....
the main thing is just constantly check your oil.... make sure its clean, make sure its full.... and check your alcohol if you got it. i check my oil and alcohol every time i get gas.... i never go below a half of a tank...
the only problems i had was 1 needed to replace my map sensor and o2 sensor, second never tied down a part to the fuel system so it got tied up on my throttle cable and almost killed me but that was my fault....
i also dont beat on it all the time.

that too
I for one love to find a reason to jack my car up and take it apart
You just learn new stuff everytime
wether it just be finding a new and faster way to take or put something on the car

For the love of moneeyyy..
Those who have turbo kits have a great asset on their hands. Here you have something worth 2000 dollars that sells like crazy.. There's a demand for it. My turbo is just sitting here in my room.. not because of lack of funds to install it, but simply because I dont have the time right now to invest two- three days to its installation. I'm dying to put it on, but the day just doesn't have enough hours in it..

I love my SF kit. Yeah there were several minor glitches at first. A couple of blown head gaskets. But now at 231hp I am more than satisfied. On a 3rd gear roll I can hang with most cars on the road up to 130mph. I can beat Mustang GT's and I am coming close to getting kills on SRT-4's.
Turbo the replacement for displacement.

This may **** some people off, but the more I read about installing a turbo kit on a Civic, the more I just want to wait it out, save my money, and just buy a faster car with "a better platform for tuning" (to quote deejai35). He just sold his 'vic and went with a WRX. Smart move, IMO. I mean, I love my Civic, but if I go turbo, it'll be on something else.

What's the fun in buying a fast car off the lot?

Besides, you could spend $2500 on a kit and make your Civic go super fast. But if you want to increase suspension performance, wheel size, and all around drivability, you're spending way more than that when you could just buy a car with all that built in. Not to mention worrying about warranty issues and/or malfunctions due to improper installation, parts, etc... I know the point and FUN of tuning or modding (whatever) is to be able to make changes, but when all is said and done, sometimes it just seems more worth it to just buy a faster car, IMO!

You could argue either way but I take pride in building something that was never meant to be built.

who gets more props?
the guy who said he bought the kit or
the guy who said he built it?
I'm also debating between getting the turbo or K20A2. I have the money for the kit, but I'm just not sure I want to buy it. I'm really worried about reliability...the only reason I want to go with K20

hmm...i can't wait till my lease is up. there is soo much that i want to do w/ my car...i even saved up soo much money. i'm about to drop some d2's for daily driving and 17''s.......but then i was like...well, i can spend that same amount for a turbo kit and drive like a wild man at the track...but then i was like.....i could take that money, sit on it for a few more years and then have 5 times as much and put a nice down payment on a condo. or a new 1.8t if not 2.0's by then. . . . most likely a gti or a4. i dunno..i love my civic though!!! yea!!!!

I am actually selling the whole car w/ the turbo on it. Not for any other reason than I am a poor college student and I have two impractical cars
1) Civic (takes super gas and I drive 100 a day to school)
2) 6cyl Jeep
There is upkeep as another post just talked about, it is not for everyone.... IMO nothing bad w/ turboing a non turbo car if you are up on how it works and maintaining the little you need to.
So yeah I guess w/ me it is the $..
