bout to get the SF kit...quick question

Well, I am wanting to keep the civ on sleeper mode. I got a grillcraft lower grille and was wondering how bad that would effect the intercooler if I keep it behind it. I don't want everyone knowing what I got until I "whoosh" by 'em!

i don't think it'll affect the performance at all. Even if it did, it'd probably only affect it VERY little because its just a mesh grill. Air is still moving past the intercooler through all the mesh.

you could always just paint your intercooler black

painting WILL affect performance, much more than a grille would.

and if you're putting a mesh grille on the stock bumper good luck, with the SF kit you have to chop off a good chunk off your stock bumper...

Anodizing it won't effect performance and you can still get it anodized in black. Osoboosted brought this topic up a while ago.

A mesh grill wont really hide the intercooler as much as you'd think, anodizing it MAY help, but if someone's looking down there, they'll know right away lol...

The grillcraft grill is different than most other mesh grills. I just put one on my car and you can't see past it, honestly. With an sf intercooler, you'll have to trim the black piece in the lower part of the bumper but as long as you leave a little bit, you can still install the grillcraft grill and noone should be able to see your intercooler. It also shouldn't affect intercooler cooling at all, either.
