The 04's may be different for some reason, though.

Well good news after 2 weeks of my car not running it finally runs.. bad news i need to replace my VTEC solenoid gasket and my valve cover gasket and then im good to go.
your 04' is hardly different as far as the ignition goes, same immobilizer key system, if u dont push in your clutch alll the way it wont start, not pushing the brake it wont start, weird honda, smart theft deterrents though.
And yeah, honda's have always been problematic to start if you're used to some of the american rides that will start with the clutch out in neutral or in Park... Never fazed me though, as I'd only owned Toyotas up untill I got my Vic; Toyota's have about the same compliment of no-start crap on them...
Congrats on getting your car running, ImportRacer. What was the problem and how much did honda drag out of you to get it fixed? Lets hope some others don't have the same issue, being without a car for a goodly length of time would kill some of us

Timing.... they said it was 1/2 a tooth off... not sure if it was advanced or retard... they didn't tell me... well the reason i need a new valve cover gasket is because i pulled it about 10 times in 1 day trying to get it to start... and im just going to replace the VTEC O-ring just to make sure.

the problem is i did line everythng up right. the little red line on the bottom has to be lined up with the pointer on the bottom cover and the top has to be TDC. i did all that is it me or did everyone that has done this get alot of smoke the firrst few minutes you turn on the car
^^^If I am not mistaking there will always be some smoke, for a short time, anytime you install new or reconditioned metal parts on the power train...this is because the machining oil will be burning off...that is pretty normal from what I have experienced
hey so the tdc on the bottm is the one that has 3 lines or the one part on the pulley that has a single line? still co0nfused because i lined it up in the middle of the three line together not to the single line

the big white line on the crank pulley is the tdc mark. It is the one to the far right of the 3 other ones. If you got this wrong and then adjusted your valves you may have to do it again.... or at least I would double check them again.
Just take your car to a certified mechanic. No offence to your or anything but it sounds like you have yourself in a bit too deep. Some things are not for the ave. DIY'er.

If he got the head swapped, I'd say that's better than most average diy'ers. Let us know when it's all working. Have you been able to drive it yet, of is it still turning off?

What all is done to your car besides the ported head.?
just cause youd rather shell out the $$ and probably never even changed your own oil doesnt mean I cant do my $hit.
MagicRacing18 dont judge me by your experience in modding i wouldnt start something i cant finish.

yeah the throttle response is better and you can feel the extra pull.plus it sounds real deep tone i have to change my exhaust back to stock or something similar cuz now its too loud.
You might get better results cuz you have a vtec and vafc

So I'm assuming you have an lx/dx with safcII? Cause you're gonna need some way to tune your air/fuel curve at the dyno. The head flows more air, so you need to up the fuel to get more of a gain I believe. I'm glad I just have a rear section exhaust. It's loud enough, but we'll see after this thing gets installed.
