DIY: Greddy Profec B Spec 2 setup
I was asked to post this by a number of people.
This is the way I was shown by my tuner to setup the profec b spec 2.
Step 1: Determine desired boost level either a hi or low or both. (for this instance we'll use 6 psi as our desired level)
Step 2: Select lo setting
Step 3: Turn **** so your WG flow percentage is set to 4 or 5% to start with (this is your boost setting in percentage not bar or psi)
Step 4: Set [gain] to 1%
Step 5: Set [set gain] to a level as close to the desired level as possible. In this case you'd set it to 5.5 or so.
Step 6: Increase boost level to desired amount by doing a few runs and increasing the % as needed. Again in this case aim for approximately 6 psi on your boost controller. (it is best to use an analog boost gauge to monitor this)
Step 7: Increase your gain slowly until you see slight spiking and then back the gain back down 2% or so.
Step 8: Repeat for your hi setting if one is needed or desired.
**Reminder** in order to save settings you must push in the **** after you have dialed in the value you desire or else the unit will return to it's previous setting.
A few things I've noticed about the unit:
1: Some of the earlier units randomly reset themselves, so it's a good idea to write down your settings so you can check them.
2: Running in the psi mode you will notice that the warning will go off 1 or 2 psi before your set level ie if you set it at 6.5 it may go off as early as 4.5 and ramp your boost down. It doesn't seem to do this in the bar mode.
To change back and forth between psi and bar mode:
Step 1: Turn off controller
Step 2: Press and hold select button and quickly press mode button twice before unit turns back on.
There you go. Hope this helps some of you. I have had this unit on my RX-7 for a few months now and it's a great unit once you learn to use it, but as always be careful when dialing in setting because overboosts or serious spikes can kill your motor.
