k24a SWAP!!!
humm, im think of what i should do, im still not sure, i wanna get a k24A swap but no one is really doing it... i want that torque monster in my go cart...
i have looked around and i can't seem to find any info on the jdm engine i heard it has like 240 hp and 180TQ or something... can some one help me get the specs....
i have been reading the tsx fourms and it looks like hondata isn't doing anything for them because its not really in high demand... but i have seen a few other companys do some stuff with it... no too many performance stuff is out for that car...

well the K24 comes from the I4 accords, Element, CRV, and the TSX.
The TSX has the best numbers from the bunch. I posted a dyno earlier today.
also, the reason why Hondata has done anything for the ECU is because of the Drive by Wire system. It scares them.

i didn't know what drive by wire was...http://www.edmunds.com/news/innovati...3/article.html
and the euro R uses the k20A engine type R 220hp...
humm, that would be alot more, i would have to convert the whole electrical system because there is no more throtal(cant spell) wire

If you are planning to do this, its obviously gonna be a pricey project. It would seem a lot more simple to be putting in type S, or even type R engine in your car. Economically, it'll be a lot cheaper, to find a type S engine. Also, with a dc-5 type R engine in your civic, you'll still be able to keep what the civic is best for, its nimble handling. the bigger the engine, the harder it will be to drive. Like an H22 hatckback, it's a lotta power to harness.
But for pure pride, having a k24 civic would be a great deal on it's own. Who the hell can say they have that shiit.
I myself, will wanna trade in my vic one day. For a 350Z.

im more interested in seeing the 151hp 2.0 i-vtec se engine getting swapped into our usdm civic. they use that engine for the base accord in uk and for the civic based out of thailand and surrounding areas. its also mounted on the drivers side as the d-series is so i think this would be a much easier swap than a k-series. it would be a good balence between hp and fuel economy.

I'm not doing anything else to my motor before all new suspension and brake stuff, but when I'm done I plan on a regular 160hp K24. I want it because it's large and tourque. I'm working on getting the SF kit I bought, to fit the k24. That'll be the engine I rebuild. Looking into it... I gotta redo the tank/fuel setup, cut into the floor, and replace the whole rear end. Only prob is getting a lowered suspension on an AWD civic. Ahh time will tell, maybe someone will beat me to the punch. Imagine an AWD BOOSTED Civic? hehe

and Honda Japan still sell awd civic with a 1.5ltr engine
o and acording to the Honda Japan website, the Euro Accord R has a 2.0lt with 220hp, so it's the same engine as the RSX Type-R

dam fly, this went from a k24 swap to a awd post...
any ways, i have heard that all the crv AWD trannys are crap... im not sure about now...
i also have been thinking and i don't think us coupe owners could put the awd on because the only cars that have awd are the sedans... and there will have to be a **** load of fabrication.
we would also have to change our exhaust piping, o yea don't forget we need a rear diffrential...
i hope honda will learn that we also want AWD. imagine a JDM type R civic(220hp) and a AWD tranny... that would be sick...
