I've just recently looked into setting up a small home anodizing line. For the basics you will need:

Battery electrolyte = online source $50 delivered
Manual Battery charger = $125 delivered
Sheet of lead = $20 delivered
misc = Buckets, aluminum wire, distllied water, dye, and whatever else there was prolly another $50 - $100

Total = $245 - $295
I'm sure it can be done for less, but id say this would be for a pretty good home set-up. But think of the posibilities? May be lots cheaper in the long run to pay for it to be done. but then DIY and you could do some for a small profit for friends

i dought having the intercooler anadized black will ruin his cooling. It is tucked in the bumper and when moving hot air would most likely have no effect on the cooling capabilities of the intercooler. A employee at a local speed shop near me has an si turbo and his intercooler is black and he also has a black mesh grill in front of it and you can't tell its there unless you really look for it. I say go for it it look tight.

I dont see point of a sleeper. Can't you still hear BOV and Turbo spooling up?

Looks pretty damn cool out on that table. Could you do a valve cover like that?

does your shift gears when it's sitting in a parking lot...

stilling missing the point
if i ride by your car with a nice shiny aluminum intercooler i'll turn twice,
also known as a double take, to make sure im not seeing stuff

if it's black than it would look like any other civic wether it's stock
or with a big *** spoiler and body kit

so stock(sleeper) look orrrr head turner???

hell yea u can do any metal like that....

^^^^^^^^^^^ and why would i advertise my turbo?

your missing the point not I.

i dont want to turn heads and brag about my turbo i rather have people think my car is some slow slush box like the rest of the cars on this site.

my car turns enough heads with my 13w7. I dont need attention or want it .

get it done in my opinion! Let us know how much it cost My understanding is that anodizing only works on aluminum, and best not on porous aluminum like cast heads and such. But then again im not a chemist There are other plating processes that can color other metals

i'd say to it

i would, because my car is black, and it'll look pretty sick with a black ic imo

the heat property won't be effected that much, since when you drive, the incomming air will probably cool the pipes enough that the extra black color won't make a difference. a nice black ic with chrome mesh, yeah!

Ok here's my "turbo owner" input...

Do it if you want some more looks done to your car. Because to me it looks good, BUT...

For roughly $300 (correct me if I'm wrong), I'd rather get a new clutch, big brake kit, or even the Greddy E-manage! I'm goin more towards track stuff for a while. But if I were looking for unique visual upgrades then yes I would do it! As for the black attracting heat, it's not a drastic difference. Air passes through the fins, sunlight isn't hitting the fins much at all. IF it gets bad by the N-tercooler lol. Now you got the best of both worlds!!!

Either way, nice idea.

wow that was a great statement, one to cherish,

otherwise, as long as u dont just paint it, it should have no effect over the cooling capabilities, come to think how long are u in direct sunlight, maybe 2-3 hours, by noon the sun is in the center of the sky and blasting the paint on ur roof and hood, DO IT
