I dont' hope that it fails......i just hope that the SF kit turns out to be just a little better, that way i won't feel shitty about spending that much money on sumtin when i could have gotten something better for a cheaper price.

I said "And i hope it turns out to not be a great kit, b/c i already have a deposit on my sf kit =) "

it was read by 'Someone' that i hope the new kit fails... (How did you do on those CTBS Highschool tests on the reding comp. section?) I note, that i am locked in by deposit, and hope i got the better of the two kits, which are currently at the same price. Its a no brainer. I hope the SF kit is the greater of the two, but will reserve any judgement till their on the street and dyno's and here on the forum.

Thank you for your concern, i am happy with my decision to get the SF kit. Eat my shorts

The BOV is probably mounted by or on the intercooler if you don't see it there.

I'd like to see SF's opinion on this kit, seeing as SF is the unofficial "guru" of turbocharging the D17...

without more details, 185 is meaningless-

Do they have any explanation for an uncapped turbo and for its location wouldn't it be more exposure to debris and therefore causing massive damage to the turbines inside and where the hell is the BOV......its a nice kit but the fundamentals for daily driving is not there...for drag hell yeah but we are all daily driven workerholics....

hey guys the car you've been talking about is mine and i just wanted you too know that yeah it is a strange setup i was like what is this Sh$$ the first time i saw it but after it's all in and you drive it it's worth it. and the 185 at 5 pounds of boost is true we took it and dynoed it right after they got done. we're supposed to go back up there, once they finish the z06 that they are putting a twin turbo on, so we can up the boost to about 10 pounds, they estimate it to put out at least 260 at the wheels. can't wait for that

I believe the main reason he is running more HP is because he has alcohol injection. That is his main fuel upgrade - which works, but I'm not sure how long the engine will last on all that ethanol....

all that i have done to the performance of my car is the turbo and a greddy evo exhaust. the reason that i don't change the alcohol system is because they won't warranty it at 10 pounds without the system they feel that it's safer. but if you don't think that it will last long what do you think i should change on my engine to help it last longer?

they warranty ur ****, o then u got it made, but other than that up grade ur internals, that way u dont bend or fry things, but then by doing that u run the risk of more frequent rebuilds

i don't understand your saying that if i keep running it at 5 pounds, with the alcohol system, then everything will be fine?, but if i run it at 10 pounds then that's when my engine will for a fact mess up? why is this?

I've been searching the web about alcohol injection. The system which you have is a nice setup! However, they are pumping lots of alcohol into your engine to overcome the fact that the factory fuel pump / injectors can't supply enough fuel at boost.

Most places just either convert the fuel system, or create some sort of concoction like SF Power did to overcome this problem. The method of which your tuner chose will work fine - but alcohol has a tendancy to corrode things, from what I've read. Eventually you'll need new internals.

I'm really not an expert at this by any means. Its good that you got everything warrentied, but I would personally increase fuel before dumping a sheitload of alcohol into the engine.....

I have no doubts that this may be a great kit......but, u are not gonna come close to 260 hp. A completely stock motor with an exhaust, u will prolly get around 210-215 hp and even that is pushing it.

Let us know what u get though.

yeah i know that you don't believe that it is putting out 185 whp @5 pounds. but when i get time i will prove you all wrong and post my dyno sheet. also if i'm running 5 pounds now what makes you think that when i up the boost to 10 pounds that i will only gain 30 more hp. i'm not saying that your wrong and i'm right because of course i cannot say anything more about my kit until i give proof. so be patient.
