Which BOV is more efficent and which one is louder ?

HKS SSQV or the Turbo XS

Is it worth buying the HKS BOV or should i stick with the XS for the SF kit ?

RFL...... out of all the BOV's i have had, the Turbo XS RFL is the best in sound, volume, and efficiency

I convinced my friend to get a turbo xs rfl for his wrx. He already had a gfb that sounded great but the rfl is louder and sounds better. Id go with a rfl no doubt about it.

I've heard a shitload of BOV's

Not being biased about what I own, just IMO:

Sound: 1. GReddy Type-S 2. HKS SSQV

Loudness: 1. TurboXS RFL 2. Blitz DDBOV 3. HKS SSQV

Efficiency: HKS SSQV (sensetivity and holding) and GReddy Type S (for the dual chamber push-pull and adjustability and holding::: - 1 point for the diaphram::: +1 point for the piston and output size)

never heard a turboXS but my friend has a HKS on his WRX and it sounds sweet, kinda like swords hitting together, sounds pretty mean.

i'm very happy with my turboxs bov. simplistic in design,very efficient, nice loud,clean pshhhh...not quite as loud as as rfl tho.

I have heard a bunch of BOV's in my time, but one seems to stick out in my mind. I'm not sure who makes it or what it's called. Maybe someone can help me out because I want to put it in my WRX. I hear it a lot on Supras. The sound is loud but not too loud and it's one quick burst kinda muffled. The only other way I can describe it is buy me mimmicking the sound with my mouth. It's like a quick CHOOOOPE.

ok......from ur responses, i get that the HKS is the better of the 2. But what i really want to know is......is it really worth paying the extra money to buy the HKS when i can just use the XS that comes with the kit ?

Ok first off if you want sound clips go to

They have many up there. I have the HKS SSQV on my RX-7 and love it, more importantly is you need to make sure you get the right one for your application. The SSQV is nice because it's adjustable without having to change the spring. If you buy the spring type you need to be sure that you get a spring that will allow the valve to open fully for your boost need. Just an FYI

Yeah the adjustment screw on the back only takes 2 secs to adjust, using a 10mm open-end wrench. I've played around with it. Works great as I said before, and it looks awesome. Worth every penny.

ne 1 know what the blitz sounds like? i bought it and am not sure about the sound...i dont really care about sound....just as long as it works

guys i have a question, what is that blow off valve that sounds like it stutters. if uve seen the best motoring clip of turbo vs NA its the bov on the yellow silvia. it sounds like ch ch ch ch ch ch ch!!!!!!

You can change the fin in the HKS SSQV to make it sound however you want it to. They make a couple of different ones.
