fuel related info plz!
as of today my motor is at Altered Atmosphere in the middle of a complete rebuild including, sleeves, pistons, rods, valves, springs, retainers, and a ported n polished head. Now, i know im going to be able to push the limits a lot higher in 2 weeks when i get everything back BUT, i have no clue what kind of boost that my fuel system will be able to take at all. I have SF's turbo kit but i dont know when the stock injectors will go static or nething.....im in dire need to get my a$$ moving and learn so i can be ready when my motor is done. FINALLY ANOTHER IDIOT IS BUILDING HIS D-SERIES YES!!! lol........as for the exact components of the motor please dont ask at the moment because mostly everything is being custom ordered from several companies. And for those of you that dont know who Altered Atmosphere is: they specialize in 3000GT and Supra tuning and have sucessfully helped my friend build his supra to over 700hp so i trust they know what they are doing. Thanks for any info guys!

if ur building this thing like u say u are, u will need more fuel no doubt, im using 4-440cc rc engineering injectors, in order for them to fit in the stock position the fuel rail will have to be modified for that along with making the rail into a return rail, AEM is supposedly making a rail for our cars, whether that has a return built in and just blocked off i dont know but it would be nice. i used a SX regulater. so of course the fuel comes into the rail out the other side into the sx regulater where it is then returned to the tank.....no as far as what we had to do with the tank i dont know what we had to do, i also used a 255 pump in tank not in line or whatever that is. now on to what i want to know, what COMPANY is making all those parts, sleeves, pistons, rods, valves, springs, retainers, hell might as well upgrade the crank while ur at it, i just used new stock head bolts when i had mine built.
thanks for the info c2i0v0i1c....so far the only info i can tell you is that the pistons are either coming from JE or Arias, the sleeves are being made by Golden Eagle, Eagle or Crower rods so far....Eagle said they had an interrest in making a batch for the D17 i guess so i dont know exactly which company is a go so far. i asked if the entire valvetrain is being provided by KMS and the porting is done by Altered Atmosphere themselves. ill keep you updated as the project progresses here. AA still is in the middle of "investigating" companies for me so i can get the best bang for the buck.......and there is a company that makes studs for our cars now but for the life of me i cant remember the name, sorry...ill get it monday when i get in contact with AA again.
has anyone dealt with rsmachines.i got a qouted for $4,764 to do the work.this includes
sleeved block w/step deck and hot tank
port/polish head
apr head studs <-------is that the one your looking for?
arias custom pistons
eagle rods
valve springs
titanium retainers
stainless steel valves
main bearings
rod bearings
thrust washers
blue print balance and assemble
is this worth it?

if you are going forced induction then you dont want to put oversized bearings or anything else on your motor...the best is to stay w/ genuine honda bearings....other than that i'd say u dont have that bad of a deal. ARP studs were not available as of 2 weeks ago when i called for information but maybe they have them now, i do not know.
ya ive been boosting for awhile now, sf is my second kit.this is for my new motor, the first got screwed up from nitrous use and with the old turbo kit i had.as for the bearings ill need to ask what they'll be using.
so can anyone answer his question about the fuel?

i talked to a contact at AEM today about their fuel rail they are designing and it looks as if it will be out in 4-12 weeks...they are in the testing phase right now with it. HOWEVER, it will be for the stock returnless system and i just dont know how well the returnless will work. I need to find out what exactly i have to do to modify the stock rail to fit other injectors in it......this is turning into a major PITA b/c i cant get exact instructions on how to convert the damn car to a return system...i know for sure the SF fuel system will supply enough fuel i just know that i cant get enough to go into the motor....not to mention i dont have an AEM EMS to tell me when my injectors are at max duty cycle....such a pain..........somoene help plz!!!!!!!!
i talked to Altered today and they said thats most likely whats going back into the motor, we discussed it and are most likely going to just torque the head down an extra 5-7lbs over what the manual calls for which is something like 49-50 ft. lbs if i remember correctly

So over tightening the head isn't bad for it? I was under the impression that on the same bolt, it would cause unneccessary and extra stress. Maybe things are different on the head but for things like exhausts I know that over-doing it is a no-no.
it is bad to over-tighten any bolt....especially a bolt that is supposed to ahve a specific torque BUT, the head studs are very high grade and going over spec ever so slightly im sure will only help, if you did go too far that would however cause problems im sure of it.
