for everyone who has a turbo.....Look here!!!

I know this hasn't been discussed before so here goes:
I want to know when you shift from 1-2 and 2-3 and 3-4 and 4-5, and at what speed and rpm's your at. This will be a good judge to see how much these turbos really open up these motors! I was in my buddies VR6 yesterday and he was doing 45mph in 1, 75 mph in second, and over 100mph in 3rd! He was shifting each time around 6000rpm. So let's have it folks.

Rev limiter on dx/lx is set at 6800 rpm. It's rev limited so you can't get over 30 mph in 1st, 60 in 2d and 90 in 3d. I haven't pushed it above 90 with the turbo yet but I wouldn't recommend removing the rev limiter unless you have a built block unless you're looking to blow it.

IDQcivic should not be trusted
I don't think the turbo is gunna change the speed at which you shift, for example... I top out at 85 in 3rd, but adding a turbo I would still top at at 85, just get there a lot faster.... Its up to the gear ratio as to how fast you can go in each gear and the rev limiter too....

this sounds like the NAWZ making your top speed faster thing in fast and furious

unless you change your gears you will go no faster (mph wise) in each gear

not good comparison./... the only thing that sux is how many times you have to shift..... you guys know they ACTUALLY try and put 2nd ending at 60mph so they can get better 0-60 times? anways... i could tell you i can hit 90 mpw in 1st... but that would probly mean my 1st gear was as long as john holmes, so my car would most likely be slow...... very slow.....

i would hit 58 mph in 1st gear in my CRX hf. I would rev my little boosted SOHC zc engine out to 8300 RPM with the HF tranny. I was the only guy runinng the 1/4 mile at 102 mph in 2nd gear.

Um... your gearing has to do with your transmission, now how much power your car develops. If you wanna take off the rev limiter sure, you could probably go higher in each gear.. but its only going to end up damaging your car. And your certainly dont need a turbo to remove the rev limiter.
