Question 1.6 Ltr, 7th Gen Turbo Kit ???

Hey Everyone,

This would be my first post here (and hopefully not the last one). I am from Pakistan and I have a 2001 Civic. Now what might sound confusing to you is that though its a 7th generation civic and looks exactly the same as yours with the engine bay and everything exactly the same EXCEPT that it has a 1.6 ltr engine instead of a 1.7. The engine code on it is "D16W9".

Now coming to my question, I am interested in getting a turbo kit for this car. I know the manifold and exhuast etc are all the same as a 1.7 ltr engine (because it LOOKS exactly the same) but what I am worried about is the ECU and any modification that would be done to it for fuel delivery purposes etc.

So in short what I am trying to ask is that whether the turbo kit made for the 1.7 ltr, 7th generation civic would fit and work perfect for a 1.6 ltr 7th generation civic???

Thanks,
Ahtasham

I would call Honda and ask to be sure before I put a large chunk of money down on a turbo kit..good luck!

iv'e headr that they put on that 1.6 lt cause a 1.7 engine would pay mote taxes being a bigger engine and since the exact number is a 16xx cc they could get away with it....

could be true.... i dont know.. but ive heard that rumor from other countries before... i think its still the 1.7l... its just rebadged.... most engines we get here are OVERATED... like the B18c is only like 1795cc's... but the LS motor is like 1810 or something... its NEVER exact here, it doenst matter. ... but countries like yours pay taxes on that.. so it is marked with much more exactness...
