Poll: Who has purchased what turbo kit?
As I have been reading through the threads I am finding that there are a lot of folks out there who have or are planning to get an SFpower turbo kit. What about the other two (Turbo Discounters and Max-Rev)? Who has what kit? This isn't a "bash the company if you hate them" thread, I am looking for hard numbers here - how many people have TD's and Max-Rev's kit?
The reason I am asking is because I see a lot of people posting that they are having problems with there kits - If you do have one - have you gotten it to work properly?
If not why (again, I'm not looking for flaming, I'm looking for specific reasons as to why - not the "it was a piece of crap" generalized answer)? Reason is - maybe TD and Max-rev will read this thread and respond in kind as to what is being done / what will be done to address the issues. I personally would like to have an option of more than one kit being offered to us, as more competition = better products, lower prices. BUT - if they don't work, and no one takes the inititive to have them respond in kind - they may just give up selling kits for our cars (or never fix the problems), which would leave us back at square 1 - Custom or SFpower (not against either - again, I just like competition).
So in those words - post away!

I have Max-Revs kit. They made a new manifold and downpipe, and are performing all the necessary welds on the intercooler piping for no charge. I ahve not installed the kit yet but I will give a review when I do.
I bought the sf kit with upgraded turbo, equal length manifold, alcohol injection and air/water intercooler. It should be here this week, they've been waiting on bovs.
As far as maxrev, I'm sure you know why their kit is troublesome. Not bashing but if you've read my thread you will see what the problem is. And I'd be willing to bet that the only reason they're redesigning the kit is because of the bad publicity they got from my thread. They still don't want to work with me on accepting the kit back, in fact, I sent it back to them and they denied receipt on it. Is this the kind of customer service you want? Anyways, SF is awesome, Mike is a very helpful guy and his kit is proven with cust svc and quality of the product as well as hp gains. I really think that this is the way to go.

Iamboo doesn't have it right? He's just like the big believer of it and he's saving last I heard.

I can't believe that people haven't learned from my mistake with maxrev and still will consider buying that setup especially when SF has such a superior product. Just compare them, seriously, it isn't hard to figure out.

That's the thing - I am trying to get ideas as to who purchased what. I know we had one TD kit out there (n3118 or something like that), but he dumped it. There were 2 max-rev kits floating around, only 1 committed installation now. Anyone else have the max-rev or TD kits?

I know that SF is a good kit (trust me - I'm probablly going that route, but not for a LONG time...my turbo fund is like -$10,000 due to the fact that I am trying to pay the car off FIRST!). BUT - I'd like to see installations of the other kits, as well as their experiences.

One of the things that I don't like about the TD kit is the dryer hose that they use to attach the filter to the turbo. You can see it in their photos as well as N3381z or whatever his name is. If I am going to spend that kind of money I want true SS or power coated piping.
One thing I don't like about the max-rev kit (which they are fixing) is the fact that it didn't include anything in the line of a dump tube, or routing one back to the exhaust. But Zinky and Mike from max-rev say they are fixing that. I can't wait to see what sort of #'s Zinky's car puts out....

I own a whole bunch of ****... but completion of it all goes to SF (I liked his work the best)... I aksed him to do some custom work for me.
I have:
SF Manifold
SF Downpipe
SF Custom IC Piping
SF Dumptube
SF Oil Lines
Turbonetics T3/t04B
Spearco Intercooler
GReddy Type-S BOV
GReddy E-manage
GReddy PRofec E-01
GReddy Full Auto Timer
Autometer Triple Gauge Pillar
Autometer Air/Fuel Gauge
Autometer Boost Gauge
Autometer Oil PRessure Gauge
TiAL 35mm Wastegate
KMS Intake Manifold
ACT HD Clutch Kit
Return Fuel System Conversion
Installation is finally underway. It should have been completed over a month ago, but there were a lot of issues involved. My manifold has been changed out. My exhaust system has been fitted on. The return fuel system is probably being started tomorrow. I already installed all of the electronics. The rest of the kit should make it's way from California to here by Wednesday morning and will probably be installed on Wednesday. After that, it's finishing the fuel system and tuning... and I'm good to go.
