Ordered Max-Rev kit today **new pics**
Man, the kit looks great. I can't wait for the results because I have an LX as well. But I'm confused. . . I thought the downpipe was only made for the EX?. . . unless I missed something. By the way, will this kit work well with an automatic?

I just talked with Mike at Max-Rev today and asked a lot of questions about the kit and what modifications were needed to make it work. First I asked about the kit hitting the slave cylinder...He explained that there needs to be a new bracket made, which takes about 5 mins done at a shop. <-Not a big deal at all...I also asked more about the extra injectors puddling fuel in your intake manifold. The injector sprays out such a fined mist that a puddle could probably never occur unless the whole injector just broke and was spraying fuel everywhere. Also I asked about the downpipe. Since I have an LX and the kit was based around the EX what a would have to do to make it fit. I will only need to cut a pice off of my exhaust and have a flange welded to match the downpipe with the exhaust. He also is shipping out two extra o2 bungs at no charge just in case the o2 sensor wire will not reach. All in all Max-Rev is a great company who stands behind there product 100% and is very knowledgable about Forced Induction and is willing to take extra time to explain all the details to people (like me). I also thank Mike for not freaking out when I called him every other 10 minutes saying I wanted to return the kit. I am not returning the kit and it will be installed as soon as the intercooler arrives at my door. If any are looking into buying this kit I recomend it and the company as well. Thats my two cents on Max-Rev.

There are no bugs with the kit...The kit was designed around and EX so I knew that the downpipe would have to be modified. Also turbo kits do require some modification to work. Remember are cars dont come from the factory turboed so they were not designed to have a turbo stuck on them.
Salesman:
Ok, I'm going to sell you a turbo kit that is designed specifically for your car and all you have to do is modify it to make it fit.
Consumer:
Ah gee is that it...i'll take two!!!
B.S. gimme the SF Power kit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On that note, where are you going to move the slave cyllinder to? Do you want a dead tranny after 200 miles? Having a bracket made to move something that is in a specific place for a specific reason is not a good idea. But if you think it's worth it, give it a shot. Good luck.
EDIT: Also, as far as exhaust goes, the only difference between the ex and lx/dx is this:
The dx/lx has the cat bolted directly under the header and the midsection bolts up to the cat.
The ex has the header which connects to a downpipe and the cat is on the midsection.
Dude, you are in for a surprise, you are going to spend 250 easy on extra parts and labor. You will need a flange for your wastegate, you have to have a dump tube made, you've got to figure out a way to mount in the oil return line, custom exhaust piping, cutting and welding in 02 bungs for the sensors, having a bracket made for the slave cyllinder (which almost any shop will tell you is not a smart thing to do.) I can go on. It seriously is not worth it.

only thing i had to do w/ my kit is pop rivet my fuel system to my firewall and i didnt even HAVE to do that i just wanted to so it looked clean and thats what mike at SF recommended....other than that no modifications and thats how it should be, screw any other kit that u have to cut and move or change things.

Well after much distress deciding on whether I should stay with the Max-Rev kit or return I ahve dicided that I am going to stay with it. I talked with Mike this morning telling him I was going to send the kit back because of all the modifications that had to be done with the kit to make it fit. Well not to my knowledge Mike had 2001 Civic LX brought in over the weekend so they could craft a new manifold and downpipe for me so I would not have to touch the Clutch Slave Cylinder. Also he is giving me a UPS shipping label so that I can send old kit back to them so they can swap the new manifold and downpipe and perform all the welds on the intercooler piping for the bov and the injector bosses for the additional injectors. They are also making the wastegate dump tube free of charge. I am very please with the way Max-Rev handled the problems with the kit they sold to me. I believe they back their product 100% and are very sincere with any mistakes they make with their product. With regards to andyman's situation with them I have no idea on what happened and will not be making any judgements on that situation because I know none of their details. I higly recommend Max-Rev to anyone and I hope to see future business for them on the d17 kit.

Zinky - ask if he can post (or if u can) the pictures of the new manifold on the site! I'd like to see what they look like. Also, did he say that they are just custom building the manifold for YOU or are they redesigning it for their kit in general (for everyone)?

Heres the pictures of the new manifold and downpipe. The new manifold raises where the turbo sits so it will not come into contact with the slave cylinder. Also they downpipe is specifically made for the LX/DX model civic.
