After I clean it, I plan on making a thread on fuel injector and throttle body options. I want to complete this swap using as little money as possible. If you guys have any suggestions on keeping the d17 throttle body and fuel injectors chime in. Support and a diy will come.

Re: Road To Mani Swap: The Junkyard

Hey how do you think the idle will be? Im keeping the d17 throttle body and im porting a hole for the iacv right now same size as stock. Why would idle differ?

Re: Road To Mani Swap: The Junkyard

Your adding way more air at idle and the ecu won't be able to adjust sufficiently at idle. Very few people have done the swap without k-pro, the few people who didn't have k-pro have at least a Fi/C.. so it's tough to give a 100% answer if your car will be drivable with a totally stock ecu

Using the d17 IACV and throttle body will help a lot, looking forward to more updates.

Re: Road To Mani Swap: The Junkyard

Im trying to figure out why the engine will flow air more idle. With the stock d17 iacv ports, you would think it would flow the same through that tiny port? Im machining a matched port in the d16y8 mani, but if i kept it smaller, would it flow less air? because the engine takes what it needs, and i understand the d16y8 mani allows it to breathe better, but does it actually allow the engine to consume more air than before? Im going to talk to a mechanic tomorrow about it

Re: Road To Mani Swap: The Junkyard

I think it has to do with the velocity of the air once it enters the manifold, but I could be wrong.
