well guys... it happened again. my 04 civic was totalled again today from what i saw damaged. heres the story:

well it was 500 and my girlfriend, her sister, and i decide to buy some hooters so weleave the house a 515. i m driving on the right the whole time and well at approx. 540 i pass wilke on golf and out of my right side this white car comes out of the street right after portillos and cuts me off. this guy is a ****ing idiot! doesnt he see that im going 40mph and he thinks hes going to beat me out? well this ****er goes on a goes anyways. holy **** i was scared... i press on the brakes but i dont slam on the brakes cuz i would of hit him from behind so i brake and switch to the left lane barely missing the whole back end of the white car. as i was switching, my car lost control and it skids back into the right lane, over the curb and BAM!!!!!!! slams head on into the rail right under the 294 bridge. the impact sends my car 360 degrees into the air and my car lands and creep into the median under the bridge.

well airbags deployed and the whole front end was ripped apart. my front bumper was still wedged somewhere on the rail, my wheel well was in the middle of the road, and my headlights and various liquids are everywhere. it was a mess.

im tired so illfinish this later... its a long story...

I'm doing my part to slow down trafic in shaumburg. If you see a civic hybrid around lunch time coasting 100 feet to lights and accelerating slowly thats probably me.

yea guys... it was terrible but suprisingly there were no injuries just a couple of scrapes. the police and paramedics were suprised that we survived, they said with a crash of that magnitude... all three of of us should have been seriously injured. im just glad that my girlfriend and her sister were fine.

its true about people around schaumburg... theyre all really agressive around there.
if anyone happens to go through the underpass of 294 going towards woodfield, you can still see my bumper wedged in the rail. my girlfriends parents drove by and saw that it was still there as well as some debris from my car.

adam yea i have the shittiest luck with cars... i dont think ill end up buying another honda, as much as i love them. coincidently adam... my accord was totalled the same day last year i believe... april 09? or something like that...

tomarro im straightening everything out with insurance and such... ill find out whether the vic is totalled or not. sorry guys i dont think ill be able to part anything out of it. i know a hand full of you will jump on the tails and rear bumper. anyways... im on the hunt for a new vehicle. and recommendations?

-im looking for a 4door car which will need little to no modding whatssoever. ill consider coupes but im tired of moving the damn seats so i can move people into the back. and unfortunately... automatic tranny. some of my options are:
--2000 toyota avalon XL
--95+ Lexus sc300
--2004 civic ex coupe (rallye red/ hfp package)
--2000+ toyota solara sle v6

actually im looking at hondas right now... maybe i might just buy another 04-05 Ex coupe. im not sure yet. adam i had the lip on my car... you can have it for free, just pull out my bumper from the rail under 294 and golf rd. , its still there. i have nothing from my car i can part out since the vehicle is under police surveillance and the whole front end is gone. but if you have the time, go and pick up a free hfp lip.

well i just found out that after all this bullshit, the bodyshop is going to repair this shitbox. damage was estimated at 10,000. i just want them to total it and give me the appraisal. i dont feel safe and **** driving a salvaged vehicle.

yea theyre going to fix it ... i get a whole new paint job so everything matches. i dont remember but i think theyre replacing the whole front including my short ram and hfp front lip as well as my nokya bulbs. im gunna ask them if they can purchase the rest of the kit. adam what do you mean fbp? are you talking paint swap to fuji blue?

holy crap I can't believe they're gonna fix it. My rear damage was only $6-7k, but usually when airbags go and engine stuff is damaged, it goes to the junkyard. Well just take it to a mechanic after and make sure they check everything. It's gonna have alot of problems once its fixed.

my bad i meant fiji blue, but yeah ill see what i can do. im going to call up insurance and the shop again after school to see. gearbox i definatly agree with what you said, thats why im kinda pissed that theyre gunna fix it.

anyways i slept on it and i dont think itll be that bad... plus i was just beginning to fall in love with the vic.

yes its dumb but thats how insurance companies are. its either pay more for a new vehicle or repair the current one. the autoshop said that the car will be repaired with ALL factory OEM parts as well as purchasing a new AEM intake and replacing my yellow bulbs with no cost to me. either way though... i was going to purchase an 05 Ex coupe if insurance had totalled the car or just continue to mod my current vic.

i have one question though... how much would you guys say my car is worth? trade-in and private party? the insurance co. says my car is worth 15000 but since it was in a crash, i doubt its anywhere near that.

insurance is giving me trouble for the extra things I needed to buy after the body work. They're even saying the balance won't be covered even tho it was fine before. Stupid insurance.

^^^damn sorry to hear the gearbox. well the body shop saiys that theyll backup everything they do and will look into everything even after the vehicle is repaired. they said that i can just come back if theres any problem and theyll fix it free of charge. (only for a certain amount of time though -- 6months to 1year i think.)

update: His front bumper is still lodged. I passed by it today. I was going to put a cross with the Honda H on it but thought people may think someone died there.
