Hey guys I had a question that maybe someone could help answer,

I'm looking to buy a 2001 or 2002 Civic from a private seller if possible, but I'm going away to college in Arizona (from Chicago), and don't want to have to deal with auto shops out there. I wanted to maybe but an extended warranty for the car, would this be possible through Honda if I bought the car while it was still under original bumper to bumper warranty?

I asked my dealership and they said the best bet is to call a dealership near you in Arizona and they should do it for about 750 to a grand. The reason you get it there is because each region uses a different extended warranty company. You can also try and get one straight from honda, but it probably wont happen, a third party company from the dealer is your best bet

if i were you, get the honda one. i have had experience from a third party warrenty and it is hell. they have to get things approved and they go out of their way to denie the claim.

do you really need an extended warranty...it is a honda after all.

deff get the honda one, go to right honda in scottsdale off frank loyd right, talk to sonny in financing.. the 4 year/100k mile is 1500 full coverage, even covers gaskets and seals.. i am buying it next week.
also there service dept. is by far the best in the valley.. tlak to paul if you get some work done there, hes the guy i always deal with..

If you haven't bought your extended warranty yet, try contacting this lady-she has been saving alot of Odyssey owners some $$. It is Honda care warranty and not a 3rd party warranty!! This is what she was posting for an Odyssey-so a Civic should be much cheaper!! You got nothing to lose but more money!!!

There is only one state in the US where I cannot sell a Honda Care Extended Warranty. Due to Florida state laws regulating licensing of warranty sales, I cannot sell Honda Care to Florida residents (unless they have another residence in a state other than Florida). Also, Honda Care cannot be sold to those of you who live in Canada with Canadian-spec vehicles. The warranty in Canada is called Honda Plus, which is not offered in the US.

Here are my prices on the different plans - ALL ARE $0 deductible Honda Care Extended Warranties on the Odyssey (no matter which type):

4 yr/ 60,000 mile - $395

5 yr/ 60,000 mile - $455
5 yr/ 75,000 mile - $545
5 yr/100,000 mile - $635

6 yr/ 75,000 mile - $600
6 yr/100,000 mile - $735

7 yr/ 75,000 mile - $645
7 yr/100,000 mile - $865

You can purchase the Honda Care Warranty until 42 mos or 42,000 miles but there are surcharges for time and miles as follows, plus Honda Care costs may change every January 1 (that's when new Dealer Rates are issued).

after 24 mos or 24,000 miles - add $60
after 36 mos or 36,000 miles - add $160
