yeah, i went to Schaumburg Honda today to get my tranny fluid changed. as i was waiting, i was looking out the windows they have in the waiting room to see the mechanics fix the cars. well anyways, i saw some employee walking around with a digi camera taking pictures of this '03 SI. i think he might be taking pics of his modifications so they'll use it for proof if he wants warranty work done. just thought i'd let you know, so take off all your aftermarket stuff before you go to that dealer.
wut about intakes? do u guys take of ur aftermarket intakes b4 u get an oil change in that dealer or do u leave it on - will they b!tch about it and say that ur warranty is no longer appliable??
i am planning to get a K&n fipk , my car is 3 months old - ill prolly take it off everytime i get an oil change....i go to the dealer to get my oil change - so that i can use up the coupon book i got when i first purchased my car =)

hey VTECnique, you work at schaumburg honda?
if you do, do they mark down in the computers that you have aftermarket stuff done to you car just by looking at it when you pull into the garage?

eh, i dont think so... if theres any problems they'll just tell u str8 up. i havent seen too many hooked up rides there yet so i cant say for sure. All i kno is that they have a problem with short shifters and headers. havent had much of a problem personally with anything else...
My friend had his ride in the honda dealership, and took everything off and they hooked up a computer to the ECU and it found out that he had a intake and a full exhaust on it. He got stuck with a $1600 bill for engine work. He brought it to boyland honda in milwaukee.

the bastard dealerships will tell you that you intake, headers, and exhaust and whatever else you have on your car voids your warranty by "putting more stress on the tranny and engine than its supposed to have."

dealerships dont like headers and short shifters b/c they believe it messes with the factory components (i.e. lowering springs could cause strut blowout). i can't see headers but i understand the short shifter theory... iono. i guess it's actually a good plan to bring down warranty work. sucks for us tho...
