For i/h/e it is generally the same as far as performacne with our car in particular.. especially the header..
But yes, durablility can be a factor, but surely not one worth worrying about assuming you buy the proper product if you know what you want. A ceramic header will do fine and will keep the exhuast temps down a slight bit, but it has less durability then a chrome header, , however a chrome header will not rival the durability of a stainless steel header and the ceramic and chrome will rust far more qiuckly than a stainless steel. BUt for price and general use a ceramic is ok and chrome is better but costs a bit more.. Stainless costs much more than either, about 100 bucks in some cases.
For intakes.. an intake is basically a freakin intake.. there is little we can do to improve the airflow between each intake system.. all the reults stay relatively the sme with the bigger companies, still however they trump the leser companies.
Exhuast.. well, as we say in this business.. and with the i/h or anyhting.. 'You get what you pay for', I got a free hot dog at a park picnik one time.. lets just say I buy most of the things I eat now..
Exhuast are separated into 3 main catagories.. That are legal mind you.. if you want illegal then a 'strait pipe' is what your looking for, however good when done right.. and great for reducing back-pressure a common mistake among people who strait pipe is not keeping any back-pressure within the header and losing top-end power due to a loss in the scavenging ability of the exhuast manifold.
1. Axle-back exhuast system
An axle-back gives you moderate performance gains.. roughly 1-4 horsepower. The gains are this much solely due to a better muffler being in place of the stock one and the better exhuast flow at the end of the pipe. However, an axle-back is only a moderate setup.. see 2.
2. Cat-back exhuast system
A cat-back exhuast system replaces the exhuast piping all the way to the catalytic converter.. thus a cat-back..
Replacing the piping all the way to the cat improves exhuast flow velocity and removes the winding mazes of a stock exhuast system with a more strait and correct flowing pipe. A cat-back often utilizes the same muffler as an axle-back thus offering the same muffler flow and better piping flow from the cat-back. Most headers we'll go to the catalytic converter.. (*note: with a shorty header can utilize a mid-pipe to acheave the same effect.)
3. Exhuast mufflers, and tips.
However looking relatively ok when the proper one is selected, a tip or muffler with no additional piping will give ABSOLUTELY NO HORSEPOWER GAINS! A muffler may give you up to 1 hp if you find the right one.. An exhuast tip and a muffler with no piping will do nothing but MAYBE look okay.. and most real car enthusiats and racers/autocrossers will laugh when they notice a tip. (*note: Mufflers with no piping cannot be detected often times, however a tip will be obvious and will more than likely lead to shunning behind your back.. and in some cases in your face as a tip is considered .. umm... 'nicely' very very moronic.
, anymore questions feel free to ask.

lol.. nor would I but obx is a possibility. if i ever do anything further with it then I'll probably go autocross and just hook-up suspension peices. Although I would go all off-brand tie-bars, I would eventually probably have to get decent sway bars from like progress or somethin.
