Ebay Intake
Ebay Intake
I am thinking about getting a short ram intake, but I do not want to spend a lot of money. I found one on ebay for like 20 dollars but kind of scared of getting it cause the others are like 200 or something. Anybody have advice or selling one for under $50?
i got mine off ebay like a year ago, its the same stuff its just not "brand name." Seeing as you dont really get any performance out of it anyway your better off going with the cheap stuff, the only major difference is the filter. Its the same pipping crap.

I thought about an intake but then realized its a waste since you can run the chance of hydro-lock with a cai and it doesn't gain anything. Plus it loses some low end torque. I stuck with stock with a K&N replacement filter. Works like a charm, only have to check it twice a year at most.

Here is a novel idea.
Buy a name brand off of ebay. Then you get the best of both worlds. Mine is an AEM with the new "Dry" filter, I got it off of ebay from some guy who got the wrong one and AEM sent him the correct one and told him to keep the old. So he sold it on ebay, I got it shipped for $75.00. I was happy.

^the v2 makes a bit diff sound....
i got my v2 for like 100 or something =]
btw, if u DO decide to get a ebay intake (which i suggest if ur not in CA)
then get it ,but get a AEM or H&N filter....so u get some quality in it.......cuz the filter is the most important part.

ive got a fujita cai, or had a cai. now its sri cause i hydrolocked my ****. had no choice. it was either hit the puddle or climb a curb at 50 mph and hit the ditch. it wasnt that deep either. but the car being lowered and the filter right next to the ground, as soon as the wheels hit the water and it started splashing up, it was over. cai is deffinately better, but make sure you get a 2 piece so you can use a water bypass valve from aem. theyre about 50 bucks but will save you a ton of money if you ever happen to hit a puddle. they have them in 3 different diameters so it should fit whichever intake you get. i wasnt sure if they worked or not so i did some research. heres a little info:
aem bypass valve
aem bypass valve
Be cautious about the e-bay ones i had one on for about 6 months, the aluminum pipe was vibrating against the fuel lines and just about wore through one. After that i bought an aem v2 and the aluminum fatigued at the mount.
Dont buy **** off of ebay. You get what you pay for. You guys are missing the point. If you get a cheap intake, you get a cheap POS filter along with it. Those filters suck up all kinds of garbage.
I have a v2 that I got for a steal off another member, otherwise I wouldnt have gotten an intake at all. The v2 has a WAY louder sound than a regular intake.
If youre gonna get a shitty intake...at least pop for a decent filter.

x2 I Can vouch for spoonem and the V2. I had a bomz ebay intake and it was good but the fitment was not great but I got it on. After about 2 seasons the filter becomes filthy being cold air down in the engine bay and it's a PITA to get under the car to take it off. I later got an aem v2 for a really good price off ebay and haven't looked back since. The sound is like no other intake the I've heard and it doesn't get as dirty as fast since it sits up top. Good luck w/e u decide to get.
I don't know about all this technology with the V2 and Weapon-R's secret intake... it's like the same thing with that tornado thing on tv. swirling the air to mix with the fuel better... blah blah blah. Just get one of those supecharger intakes for $35, you know what I'm talking about... with the little cute fan. haha.

The only thing you should worry about is the filter. I bought a civic intake once and at the end of the filter was WIRE mesh...threw that thing away, needless to say. Also, the tube fit really wierd so I ended up throwing the tube too and spent $130 on an AEM SRI.
