I live in Santa Cruz, so doing this for you guys would be a whole lot easier. It takes about a day. You give the tails to me in the morning, hang out, and you will have them in the afternoon ready to go.

The materials alone cost close to $50...so im asking $70...it is very high quality, glossy, lots of light shines through.

ron, you'll get busted for having those when you go to the fremont/ union city area. cops look out for those kinds of things.

ive driven all over San Jose, Fremont, Union City, Santa Cruz, Marina, Monterey, and have yet to get pulled.
I think they are only illegal if they are not reflective through the smoke job. The ones that i do are very reflective. You can still see the red and all the reflectors even with the stuff that i use on them. Here in Capitola (near Santa Cruz) the cops are bitches! I have had them pull me over for exhaust, my car being too low, my lights...and they have yet to say anything about the tails. I have even had a cop ask me if i can do it on his car.
I understand if you dont want it done...but maybe you can have a spare set for going to shows with or something. I guarentee that my smoke job is one of the best, esspecially in this area.

weapon...dont worry about it at all.
Even if you do get pulled over for it (which i havent heard of with any of my customers) the DOT imprint is still on the tails...so just go tell the cop to check out the DOT approval imprint on the tails and to go home and eat a dohnut.

dude, if you show up in the morning, my buddy can spray them, we can hang out, and you would be driving home in a few hours....the major part of the waiting period is making sure they are dry

yea im in Santa Cruz...thats only about 40min from San Jose with good traffic over 17. I use heat lamps to dry...it doesnt take too long. After it dries, i put a thin layer of wax on top of that to seal the new clear coat too.

hey geoff, did you smoke a jetta's taillights before? i saw a electric blue colored jetta in san jose earlier today with smoked tails. looked cool, i cant wait to get mine smoked
