How Long?
Yeah.. I think it is around the range everyone gave here that it stays on your record.. but definetely go to traffic school for it. Depending on which county you got your ticket in, you may even be able to take traffic school online which is good! In 18 months you can get another ticket and have it taken off too, and so on.

How can you have another ticket in 18 months and have it taken off? I'm interested in finding that out.
Thanks.
It isn't reported to your insurance unless... you have more than one ticket in an 18 month period (or) you get a ticket for driving 20 mph over the speed limit (in california at least).. and then the usually driving under the influence, more serious infractions.. etc...
And EmanEx.. I responded to your PM, but also too bad you were close to having 18 months.. but if that lawyer says that is something that will work then I would go for it.. depending on what your speeding ticket was for it could very well cost you $300 (or pretty damn close to that) after all the court fees and such, plus if you pay that and it gets off of your record you save from having your insuranced raised to hell. And I'm almost 100% positive that it only has to be 18 months from the date of your last ticket, but I'm no lawyer of course

your insurance company.
Pay a few dollars extra over what the amout of bail is for the ticket.
When you get a refund check back from the county or city (depending if you got a ticket from CHP or City Cops), don't cash it.
This will keep you in the system as an open case. Since it is never closed beacause you have not cashed the check, it will not be reported to your insurance!!
California is trying to fix this problem so I don't know how much longer people can get away with doing this.
GOOD LUCK!

There is a loop-hole in the system to not have your ticket be reported to

Have you done this? I've heard that this is not true.
a standard ticket stays on you record for 3 years if you a bad speeder like me and get tickets for over 100mph you get a ticket that stays on your record for 7 years. for traffic school you can go to traffic school every 18 months if the judge will allow you. The loop hole thing shounds good to.
