my car was stolen
living/working in richmond finally caught up with me. yesterday i'm leaving work and i walk out into the parking lot and my car is gone. some a**hole stole it. f*ck the factory alarm too, it didnt stop nothing. there was no glass on the ground, so unless the theif swept up after himself, he had no problem breaking in. so good bye dvd player, good bye rims, good shocks and struts, good bye speakers and amps. we'll see what remains of my car if they find it.

insurance is with him.
always.
sorry to hear that man. if you ever get to meet the guy, before you start killing him, ask him how he got through the alarm.
and then proceed in killing him.
again, sorry about your loss.
<EDIT> your sig. is funny.
always.

Damn, that sucks horribly. Hope insurance covers all of it.
Guess now you need to buy a shotgun and wait next to your window for someone to look at your car the wrong way next time.

thanks guys. yeah it f*cking sucks right now. insurance will cover everything. assuming i never see my baby again they will cut me a check for the kbb price, plus a check for my aftermarket stuff, which right now is totalling $3k+ from digging up my old receipts. only problem is i dont know how long before they give up on recovering my car and finally call it as a loss.

Get another civic and pocket the rest of the money.
Civic's are low maintanence, low-trouble, low-cost, and keep their value. Faster cars bankrupt you faster through paying for more gas, more repairs, more trouble....
Just my .02 cents.

Damn. That's terrible news man. Glad your insurance is being so cooperative also. I know some of them would be dicks about aftermarket stuff
Holy Crap that is the first i heard since i been in this site. I though our civic is unstealable because we have chip in our key and plus who want to steal our civic is look so slow. Sorry hear that man, hope the insurance will pay up for your lost.

Its called a tow truck.. Can still steal um... Also what ever you buy, i wouild suggest LO-JACK w/early warning! even if its on a tow truck you will get a phone call, text message, and email if it moves.

More info about lo-jack? Try google
Lo-Jack works if it's some petty thieves that are looking to strip the car and leave it, but not if it's professionals... they know how to disable it fairly well in most instances.
BTW it's doubtful with our cars that professionals have much interest in them... Civic's aren't high on a professional's list of cars to steal.

the only people who are supposed to know where its at is, the person who installed it and the lojack center.

Sounds great in theory, but if you are talking about professional car thieves, they have means and methods. Not all lojacked cars are found, this is because there are ways to detect the module... or jam it until it's found.

update again, i cashed the check my insurance company gave me and got a 2006 base RSX, was gonna get a wrx but they are just way to ugly for me but it was fun to test drive, lol. the rsx is WAY funner to drive than my civic (which is deeply missed) but the RSX was also a good balance between power, maintenance, and gas. i also got the extended warrenty and ALL my 5k mile tune ups are prepaid for the next 5 years. and yeah, lojack gets installed next week, lol.
