The Next Meet
Alright guys, we've had some momentum from the last couple meets, techdays, etc, and we actually had some good turnouts. Last couple days this forum has been dead though, so lets get something else going.
I was thinking the 6th, 13th or 20th of August.
I don't know where everyone is coming from, and I don't *THINK* we want to have it at Lake Eliz. again, so first lets see if we can't make a guess as to where you would like to have a meet at. Please throw out some suggestions... for anything.
North Bay, the Valley, East Bay? Someplace with a nice photoshoot background?
Lets put something together guys!

We could alway do another RPM meet in August. Gotta let me know soon if you're down since they require reservations...
Also, been thinking about reinstating my pool hall meets... maybe twice a month instead of weekly. Anyone interested? It'd be in the Carmichael area..
Let me know...

Frisco meet? Not too many of us like to drive in the city, it's also hard to caravan with all those cars together, in heavy traffic.
Somewhere on the outskirts of SF, sure. But I'm not too familiar with the area....

I'm not familiar with Treasure Island. Do you have to pay for it? Just get off at the bay bridge, right? Plenty of room for us all, maybe BBQ pits or something?
I vote for a meet at Mount Diablo....we can have a sweet photoshoot and a bbq...then cruise to dublin and see a movie....thats my vote...and there is PLENTY of space at the top of Mount Diablo...

hm there is definately tons of space....... the area w/ the BBQ pits is kind of small. like........ theres parking for about 15 cars.
pretty good spot for a meet i think. since i doubt that more than 15 cars will show up (no offence norcal'rs. haha). its right up against the ocean too. great view of both bridges... downtown and water
oh n about the toll....... it depends on where ur comin from. theres no toll for me cuz im in frisko n just goin halfway, but for ppl up north like xam.... theres the GG bridge toll. but no toll for treasure island. n then ppl coming from oakland side of the bay, u gotah pay $3 toll to get across the bridge

If the last few meets is any sort of guide, we could easily have more than 15 cars there.
And what if there are other people there wanting to enjoy the weather? Not enough space could be a real problem...
but you guys know the place better than me. If you
for Treasure Island, then I am...

^That would be awesome bro
Becca, it's not that we're rejecting YOU or your RPM or CXV Meets, it's just that we want to set up a 7thgen meet... not that you aren't invited, but just to have a meet planned an executed by this site...

PS: All I'm trying to do is get fellow car enthusiasts together to get to know each other. If that's a crime... shoot me.

About RPM... the last time we went a few guys didn't have any cash for racing. They still showed up to hang out and chat with other car people. That's all I ask... if you don't want to shell out the cash to race, for whatever reason, still show up to hang out. Besides, after the last meet, we ended up having an impromptu photoshoot... and no one had to spend any cash for that except me to have the pix developed. No harm, no foul.
I don't mean to **** anyone off here... it's not my intent at all. I just get tired of trying to put together meets, having people say they're going to show, showing up at the meet spot, and having everyone flake on me. Also, when guys do a "drive by" to check how many people are there, it's like a slap in the face. Just stop and say hi... chances are the next guy doing a "drive by" will see there's people there and stop and say hi too. That's all I'm saying.

Sam, are you up for a meet on your birthday? It's either a good idea and way for you to have fun, or bad idea because you have too much planned...

The meets I propose are not specifically targeted for those in the bay area... although those folks are always welcome to come along. No, instead they are targeted to the large import population that is in or near Sacramento/Stockton. I don't think a 40 minute drive from Stockton is too much to ask... but maybe I'm wrong.
