I would go with cingular as my company due to the fact they have the free mobile to mobile and more than likely most of your friends will have it. I kinda have hook ups for phones, kinda kinda...but you live too far away...
There maybe a few reasons why your not getting calls or missing voice mails. It might be the area you live in recieves a high volume of calls all day, do you seem to miss more calls during the day than at night? Do you seem to miss calls only in one area? It also maybe your phone..but thats kinda going out on a limb. I'd say if you can, borrow a phone from someone...see if it helps or also try to notice what I talked about above.

Oh and just to let you know....nextel is expensive, and Verizon is horrible...
Oh and T-mobile...runs of the cingular network...but cingular I believe gives prority to its customers first. It was a contract agreement, Tmobile is part of some canadian company that is renting out cingular equipment.

Verizon for sure.....................................I know this girl that used to work at a verizon store, but she quit to make her own business. But dood I've had a new phone every 3-4 months from her hookups....So no hookups from me right now cause it'll take care probably a while till she gets everything together.............

tmobile is a actually a german company. There a extension of deteche-telcom. I have tmobile and it works fine for me. I'm guessing gsm in your area must suck. I would just upgrade to verizon. cdma in my opinion is superior then gsm but you do a hefty price for it.

That's when you get 15 or more verizon customers from your area to send a letter to Verizon wireless to install a new anthena or whatever they call it.......

its crazy, the main problem is my signal...i dont hardly have one. especially around my hometown, i seem to miss alot of calls. i even used my house phone to call it, it rang like 5 times on my house phone before my cell phone actually started to ring, then i left a voicemail and my phone said i had nothing. so i called my mailbox and it was empty!? wtf! all my friends and family have said they called me hella times and left hella messages but i hardly get them. t-mobile can suck a nut, i need a phone hecka fast.

LoL...my schools paper did a huge article on it. We had petitions signed, letters written, blah blah blah and verizon just said that our reception is fine. I'll take what you said to the newpaper staff and see what they can do.

LoL...if you have no reception then thats why your not getting half your calls. I'd recommend going around town and asking what ppl in your area are using. What ever they use and have great/good signal with is what you should probably be using.

No weak signal doesn't mean u will be getting calls, depending on how weak.

I haven't read a manual on cell phones work but I have a guess. Cell phones don't maintain a constant connection to cell towers, because it will draw to much battery power. Instead they find a signal, probably lock on to the freq and they keep a tab on it checking in every few seconds. (some phones will check every 10 seconds some up to a minute) I know the phone I have is very quick at pick up the signal again. But your phone might not...now if u have signal then it loses it, your phone won't just say zero signal because you'd never buy a phone that says it loses signal all the time. So you might be missing calls because of that. Also, cellphones are designed to use less power when maintaining a lock on a cell tower, than when you use a call. For example you notice your reception seems to get better when you make a phone call? Cellphone boost its power usage to help maintain the signal.

Yea I already talked to the editor today, said he would look into it. A lot of the kids already switch to cingular. Cingular has really good reception down here, and the network is not as busy. If I got like 10 miles to rowland heights though it becomes crazy, you can't get ur phone calls or text messages and they come really slow. There are soo many ppl there with soo many cells phone the network is always playing ketchup.

for putting up addition cell dishes isn't really up to the cell companies. Its more up to your local city government because putting up a cell dish is a zoning issue. Most cell companies have to fight local city governments in court to get there dishes up.

Most people want cell dishes for better cell reception but don't want it by or near there house. These cell phone companies make billions a dollars a year, i dont think adding another dish would hurt there wallet that much.

Thats one of the reasons why cingular bought att, so they wouldnt have to fight local governments to put up more dishes. They just used the ones att had so they can setup there EDGE network.
