Asking for 5min of your time Hey,
Well as some of you know, i was given a job at a local performance shop called Volks Cafe here in Santa Cruz (dream job!). This was great because i was gonna be able to hook my car up for cheap, and give great deals to all of my friends (that includes all of you guys).
Today, after only 4 days of work there, my boss fired me. He said that although i know tons about Hondas, and Acuras, i just dont know enough about VW. And since that is a lot of their customers, that he thinks that he made a terrible decision of bringing someone to work there that only knows Hondas, and Acuras, and other Imports of that kind.
The situation is that their main sales guy is leaving the shop, and i was supposed to fill his shoes because the other kid that is working there only knows about VW. So with me there, both fields would be covered. Needless to say the guy that was leaving was shocked to hear that my boss was letting me go, cause infact he was worried about leaving the shop just to this kid, and was much more comfortable leaving with me working there.
Now, i am callin out to my fellow Honda friends. Please, swamp that shop with calls about Hondas, and Acuras, and Mitsubishis, or whatever you want, but it is imperitive that you ask for me (Geoff), cause you heard that he was the import guy to talk to. If they say "can i help you with anything?" just say, "well i would really just like to talk to Geoff about it, thanks anyway" and hang up. I am hoping through this, they will see that they need me on board, and then i can work there again. Working there hooks you guys up too. If i get accepted back, i can get you guys deals on basically anything that you want. For instance, i can get the full G5 Wings West kit for $600 shipped for your guys. Thats quite a bit less then what Wings West is asking. I might even be able to start group buys for your guys too.
Please, at least consider just takin a few minutes of your time to make the call. It would help you and me out a lot.

Rep Power: 0 really you dont have to ask a question at all. Just say, "Hey, i heard that you have a honda guy workin there" they will say "no he doesnt work here any more, is there something that i can help you out with" then you just say "well, i would of really like to talk to a honda guy, but thanks anyways" then hang up. All the guys workin there now are just VW guys. they dont know really anything about Hondas.
If you really want a question that will stump them...ask them the effects of a Hondata Reflash for your RSX-S, or Si.

Rep Power: 0 i just want them to realize that there is a demand for Honda, and Acura knowledge out there, and that they really are gonna lose that group of customers because they dont know jack about it. And maybe, just maybe...through all of that, they will invite me back to the shop.
That is my thought on this.

Rep Power: 0 just ask them this, "When my vtec disengaged i heard a thunk. what could it be". most likely the LMA's which keep the vtec rockers quiet while out of vtec. look for different series ecu's for honda/acura. if you want to change the vtec engagement and redline which ecu would i change out. In doing that the fuel curve and everything will change though also

thanks guy for helpin out. Yes, i can hook you guys up on parts if i get this job back. I loved workin there for the few days that i was there, i met some great people, got some great connections, and the pay is good.

Just do what you have to do. If you like your work, that's all that matters IMO. That shows you have pride in your work. You won't get paid to pass judgement on your boss. That shows you have pride for yourself but it's not gonna get you paid.
