need some help here...

i got a fix it ticket for my blue turn bulbs and i have to court on aug. 1 to show them that i changed it along with some other things. i was thinking of DIY blacking out my headlights at tech day but im scared that the court might say something about my headlights being black

what do u guys think i should do

SVongkasem - I can do it. I have all the tools...buy Denso Iridium IK20. Groupbuycenter.com had them for $43 shipped, but takes longer than a week to get them.

born2xLr8 - improved gas mileage, smoother idle, faster revving.... definetely worth it. search a bit and you'll find plenty of positive reviews.

DaZeD - They won't care that the headlight assembly is black (even focus now come with stock black housing), but they will probably want to see the amber bulb & amber reflector (yes that ugly orange thing you probably removed). If I were you I would black out the headlight and put the amber reflector on (just like TopFuel). Then on your spare time you can remove the reflector...

Somewhere there....it says that in CA you need both amber reflector and amber bulb. Sucks doesn't it....

Next time you go outside look at the front side of all cars..... every single (USDM) car has an amber reflector somewhere on the front & red on the back.

ak i've yet to be plulled over for that, and dont think i ever will. i've had my share of fix its to.

ak-what do u think will happen if i just go with amber bulbs and the the orange piece, if they say that its not acceptable do they just give me another time to fix it or is it a big problem

This is just my guess.... I think they will sign it off and let you go. The headlamps are still D.O.T. approved just painted black & the aim is normal. Also go with your stock H4 bulbs.

Alright I have an update for you guys. Can you update the first page also Alex? I pulled some strings on my work schedule so I'll be at Tech Day from 11am to around 2pm. BUT whoever wants to do the black housing headlights I still want them all to show up at 11 so i can explain everything once and get everything done at once instead of going back and forth on stuff ya know. I'll also be able to help on suspension, body kits, headunits and whatever else. Alright see ya guys next week.

Fuse and fuse holder is extra...if you want it to be safer.

I've been using my booty call without a fuse and it has not blown or anything.

But sure....buy it if you want it. Definetely doesn't hurt.
