Advice Re: Speeding Ticket
Advice Re: Speeding Ticket
Ahhhh I got my first speeding ticket . Well I was going up a slight incline and then all of a sudden there was a cop standing in the middle of the road pulling me over. I never drove past him. His bike was kinda hidden by a van and I didn’t see him. He said I was going 53 in a 30 which I don’t think is true. I never asked to see the gun though cuz I had had a bad day and was trippin. I was wondering has this happened to anyone else like this?? Should I fight it or just go to traffic school?? My fine is $184 with traffic school not including the traffic school fees (why is it that my fine is higher when I go to traffic school??). Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
They usually hide then its like
Oh shii........I got one to and i just paid it and did traffic school on the net.I didnt fight it cuz i knew i was caught. Im pretty sure it might have been a 30 zone. No one ever goes 30.You were just going fast @ the wrong time

how fast were you really going? if you were going 50 in a 30 then i'd say suck it up and pay.. you did the crime now do the time... be a man.. if you dont want to pay, just don't speed
heres some experienced advice. call a couple days before your due date, ask for an extension, do the same thing again for the next due date, the third time, come into the court, and ask for a hearing, youll get up to another 45 days. then choose, day time-cops have a higher chance of not showing up and night-they usually show up more. if they dont, then nothing happens, your ticket is dropped, but if they do, plead guilty and go to traffic school. 200 bucks is worth the hasle of all this...to me. oh yeah when you come into to court to ask a for hearing you have to pay for the fee, if you win, then youll get it back within a month or so, if you loose go to traffic school. this will extend everything out for about 6 months or so. unless you just dont want to take a chance at not having to do anything and save yourself for another ticket (traffic school is only every 18 months).
I had just looked down at my speedometer before he pulled me over and i was going like 42 so yea i was speeding and i know it. Just didnt seem right the way i go pulled over i didnt even pass him. It was just weird and my first ticket since i started driving when i was 16 five years ago. Thanks for the info though i really appreciate it.

Well, just so you know, If you try to fight a ticket and lose, you cant take traffic school! I had the same type of ticket occur with me. Check the time of the ticket, and all the information that he put down on the ticket itself. He put so much bs in mine that he had no shot of winning (if he showed, which he didnt).
Just a lil advice.

well thats up to the judge, but if you know your speeding, then its his word against yours, and he'll always win, in normal circumtances, what i meant was that if you see him in court, just plead guilty on the spot and go to traffic school. going to court is just the chance that he doesnt show up. i mean i would go through all that trouble to not have to fork out 2 bills, but then again im a student...
