E-Street in SD
On saturday night I was in SD at a club called E-Street in the Gas Lamp district. They closed the exit and stoped letting people in, but the place was not even close to packed. So we heard that a bouncer fell down the stairs by the entrance...anyway, they ended up closing the club about an hour later and kickin us all out. The police then closed off the whole block. We were staying about a block away at the Westin. This is what was in the news this morning...
Homicide Investigation
SAN DIEGO, CA - Police are investigating the death of a bouncer at a local
night club late Saturday. The bouncer at E Street Alley in the Gaslamp area
was reportedly removing a patron from the bar when the man punched him. The
bouncer fell back, hit his head and was knocked unconscious. He was taken to
a local hospital where he died from his injuries. The patron, twenty-five
year old Jason Lewis, was taken into custody.

It was fun...I had a good time. We stayed at the Westin at the suites on the top floor. Great view, two stories, cold beer and chips waiting for us. It was so fun taking the train because it is 5 blocks from where we stayed. We were in the Gas Lamp district and we were right next to a mall. A lot of fun though

The news can often be misleading.
Please don't let this unfortunate incident keep you away from the SD nightclub scene. I'll be working at the Bristol this Saturday. If you wish to attend, please let me know in advance for VIP consideration.

ya i heard about that on the news. I dont know why the news did not mention him falling down the stairs. I figured thats what happened bc they said they were up some stairs and before he left or something the guy punched him. I hope that dude freaks out and decides to jump off the Coronado Bridge.

Hey man, sorry about what happened to your Co-worker. It is stupid for something to even happen like that. E-street was the best clubs that we went to the whole weekend, especially on Friday night. The bouncers were cool, and they all dressed well, which isn't the case in LA.
Anywayz, me and my homies went down to SD for my Bachelor party weekend, so I don't think we will be heading that way anytime soon. But if/when I go back, I will definantly stop by E-street again. We had a good time ( took the train and stayed at the Westin).
Man, it sucks for someone's life to be taken like that. I can't get over that...but I guess that is part of the risk taken when being a bouncer.

Update:
The District Attorneys office has decided to charge Jason Lewis with involuntary manslaughter...instead of 1st degree murder. He'll prob. only get a min. of ten years.
