Leaking hydraulic belt tensioner - Shop Recommendation Los Angeles
Leaking hydraulic belt tensioner - Shop Recommendation Los Angeles
Hey Everyone -
My wife took our Honda Civic (2013) to the Hollywood Honda dealer a week ago and we were told that it has a “leaking hydraulic belt tensioner”. I am trying to locate the leak but what is a reasonable charge for the repair as they are asking for $650 (half day of work per the rep)? Are there any good independent shops in Los Angels that won't charge an arm and a leg ?
Thank you!

Re: Leaking hydraulic belt tensioner - Shop Recommendation Los Angeles
I’m assuming the price includes parts. They’d probably do the belt in there at the same time. Belt + tensioner look to be $150-$200 which means labor comes out to $450-ish. That’s like 3-4 hours. That doesn’t seem outlandish to me.
