Re: CA Unofficial Whoring Thread!
I know Regis.
A sc a2 sounds like a good way to go, mimic an all motor monster but with less hassle.
Wow your guys's history must go way back with charmer, I don't know what he's done but there's a lot of animosity in this thread to say the least.
Anyways here's some more cents, some of it is extremely obvious but I felt like sayin' it anyways:
- Some body kits do increase down force and are designed for racing/auto cross and are not just completely for show. Though, 99% of them are probably just for looks.
- Em2's aren't good drag cars, noticed almost no one uses them since earlier chassis are simply lighter.
- Em2's, though relatively unsupported by the after market, can make for a great daily driver project, with nicer interiors than the old gens but lighter then the new gens. Also, being unpopular can to tune it makes your car that much more unique.
- Civics can be relatively fast, but front wheel drive and four cylinders can only take you so far.
- How much hp is enough? I've heard from many that the Em2 can experience traction issues at the 230whp+ range with no LSD. I think people don't realize how dangerous high horsepower cars that weren't meant for it can be. Ask the guy with the 490whp d17. He's quick, but when he hits the peddle at 4.5 k the torque steer is brutal.

Re: CA Unofficial Whoring Thread!
The rumored cost is estimated to be around $25k-28k.
Re: CA Unofficial Whoring Thread!
evan, from a ME/IT background i know that there are bodykits that help with downforce but not for street driven cars not to mention we dont drive fast enough to where they would be of any use you could use dive planes/canards like the DTM cars do or wrx (newer ones) but thats all a calculation for the best spot. now lets say you have a fat ol intercooler a body kit would actually help because most body kits have huge gaps so that the intercooler can get all the air it wants ans some even have planes that could direct the air into the intercooler but charmer doesnt have an intercooler or atleast no right now so its kinda stupid. yeah i do want to mimic an all motor car cuz i love all motor cars but a dd thats all motor is no bueno. i say this because for me a good all motor setup requires ITBs large duration cams short gear ratios a CR of 12:1 or higher ahd must have and extremely light flywheel. so as a dd thats not good s/c car does the same just doesnt sound as good lol

And as for the all motor vs. s/c, good point. I don't know why some guys drive with there ITBs unfiltered, that's crazy. Plus, bolting on a supercharger is less hassle in general than building up an all motor with installing the higher compression pistons and all.
