Modified exhaust ticket
I got pulled over by a Sheriff for a modified exhaust - vechicle code 2715 1(a) When he pulled me over I asked "Is there something wrong officer?" His response.. "Licence, registration, proof of insurance".. I hand him the documents, then he proceeds to walk around my car 5 times... comes back and says ... " you know.. your exhaust is not stock" I say, It's just a muffler, everything from the motor to the exhaust can is stock"... he goes on " Well I have to write you ticket, but don't worry this won't count against you insurance and this is NOT a fix it ticket". argh!!! anyway, I got the courtesy notice. The bail is $161.00!! Do you guys know if he's right about it not affecting my insurance rates?

It wont affect your insurance. Just pay the $161.00 and be on your way. If you want another ticket in the future, leave it on. Other wise take it off.
There was a sticky on the Legal forum but i can't seem to find it. The new site owners must have removed it because it was on the home page for forums. If you find it, all your questions will be answered on what to do when pulled over and whats the best way to get out of a ticket. That thread helped me countless times.

he is stupid... it is a fix it ticket... just put on the stock muffler and get it signed offf at a chp office and then get a court date and the judge will change it to a fix it ticket... only pay 10 bucks
the insurance wont be notifyed, but the DMV will.. when your renew your insurance it will pop on the document as a moving violation just go to the dmv and have them take it off becuase a loud exhaust is not a moving violation!!
