Hey guys. I could not believe what I've seen today. When I was washing my car I've noticed both of the rear tires are completely bald. My car has 2" drop on Eibach Sportlines. I also have SPC camber kit all around, and the tires are Yokohama ES100. The tires are 205/40/17 but I'm trying to get 215/45/17. Would u think they would rub against the fender? Anyways, I need to buy new set of tires or at least two. Please let me know if you have some for sale. I need them asap.
Rubbing will depend on your drop (of course) and your alignment. I recently switched from 205/40/17 to 215/40/17 tires. With the proper alignment, I have no rubbing whatsoever, and my car is pretty low.

my front is a bit higher than the rear. should i go with 45s on the front and 40s in the back? also, switching to 215 from 205 wouldnt make any difference would it?
I have 225/45/17's all around with a 1 finger gap all around as well. Not sure how much of a drop that is, since I'm on megan coilovers.
I think my fronts would rub if I still had wheel well plastic covers ... but other than that, I only rub when I corner HARD

I suggest keeping it the same size, unless you don't rotate your tires at all. Having 215's on 17" wheels (I assume your wheels are at least 7" wide) gives the "lips" on your wheels less exposure. With 205's, the lips on my wheels were exposed a lot which was changed drastically by the 215's. Anyway, I'm happy with 215/40's, but its really all on what you want. Check out the "official rim gallery" or whatever thread at the "wheels, tires, brakes" forum.
By the way, Derek hooked it up BIG TIME with my tires. Thanks again.

i use to have 215/45/17 on my RH c2s, and i was on sportline also. and when i use to take hard turns it would rub in the back. but i think the C2s were 7.5 wide i think? mbison check how much the GTN's are, i forget =D. but i think if i still had them i would go 215/40/17 also. and if you do go that route then you should change all 4 tires cuz it might look werid with the 205/40/17s in the back. hope everyone jocks on your rims meng.... i know i doo!! haha

heh.. ive just looked at the wheels again and i doubt i could go with size other than it is rightnow - 205/40/17. the front could do 215/45/17 easily. please let me know guys what u think.

Aside from the problems you'd get from rotating your tires though, I doubt you'd have any real problems

treadwear the higher the better because it will last longer(280-300 is good) but then again sometimes the high treadwear is a sign that it isnt as grippy as some others (less than 100 can be seen on the yokohama a048s or 32s)
