Today i looked in my truck to find out what the weird rattle im getting all of a sudden and i see that those two black bars(i dont know what the hell they are) are connected to a plastic grey clip and the grey clip connects to a metal peices thats connected to the trunk well the metal peice snapped so thats was the rattle. so my first question is

what do thos black bars do?

are they important?

will honda fix is even tho i have stuff done to my car?

and has anyone heard of this happening before?

its the trunk springs, eh same thing happened to my car. I just pulled the bracket off. it still rattles a little but not as much. the trunk doesnt stay open as easy though.

just the bracket... the bars are still on, thats why it still kind of rattles but eh atleast the trunk stays up by itself.

I think you were supposed to get stronger rods since you have an oem wing.

Unless you did stuff to the actual trunk they should fix it. Some dealers will give you a line of bs saying you modified the car void warrenty blah blah blah. But they have to show proof that something u did to the car made it brake. If the dealr gives you crap contact honda and see what they say.

but a reply to abe, can you fix mine? I dont have a welder nor do i know how even if i did. and I already tried super glue(which is better than elmers) but it didnt hold...

yeah they SHOULD still fix it for free. whether they actually will is a different story.

It might also be the air vent located on the bottom left hand side of the trunk under ther carpet. That ish would rattle when ever the bass would hit.
