Radar Detector and Scrambler...
Hey guys I was running around on the net looking up radar detectors and found the Rocky Mountain C430 Laser Radar Detector/Scrambler. The first thing I noticed was that its banned from california. Does anyone know why?
yeah, all radars are illegal in Cali I believe. I have a Valentine One radar in my car, and it has saved my butt numerous times. Just look through Car and driver, Motor trend , especially Porsche magazine (Christophorus) and you will see Valentine One advertisements in every issue guaranteed! Rep Power: 350 Radar/Laser detectors arent illegal in California, although any judge may increase your fine if cited and it is noted that you had a radar/laser detector. Radar/Laser jammers however are completely illegal and you can get a hefty fine if found to be using one. So basically if you are in a pack of minivans and a cop's device gets jammed, hes coming after the civic.

Rep Power: 0 The jammers are really expensive, like 700+ for a good one. Thats to much for me, the beltronics rx65 is suppose to be as good as the passport 8500 x50 but has Ku band for europe and a voice that talks to you. The x50 and the rx65 are suppose to be just as good as the valentine.

Radar detectors are LEGAL
Scrammblers and jammers are illegal. The cops will impound your verhicle and search it to find it, that includes pulling the car apart physically.
