As some of you guys know, my wife has been working out hard and eating right for the past 3 years. She reached a point in her life where she was at a weight that she didn't want to be at, so she completely changed her habits in order to shed the weight. She works out almost every day, and 4 days a week she works out 2 times a day. She is also the only female mod on a fitness forum, and she is now fitness obsessed. in fact, she has bigger muscles then some dudes at the gym!!

Anywayz, after all of this hard work and weight loss, the time has come for my wife to have her excess skin removed. She will be getting a full-body lift beginning on January 24th. They will do the bottom half of her body first, then in six weeks they will do they top half (yes, including new bewbies you pervs ).

I am very nervous about the situation, especially since my wife's Mom was paralized because of an unnessesary surgery. I know that she has worked hard to get to this point, and I support her decision to have her surgeries.

Please keep my wife and our family in your prayers these next few weeks.

I'm personally against things like that. she doesnt even need it, she looked good the last time i saw her. But i guess if its something she wants and something your ok with then I guess only thing to say is hope things go well. I'm sure it will cause its a lot more common now than back in the day so there's a lesser chance of something going wrong.

She wants it more then anything and i can't stand in her way.

I should be clear that my wife will not, nor will she ever, be having plastic surgery to her face...she is just tightning up her skin since she has extra skin since she lost her weight.

I admire your wife for all the work shes putting into this. I really wish that i could work out everyday and stay healthy but i cant. I eat so much junk and i never excercise. I think at this point in my life im the most out of shape i have ever been.

Yeah, me too. I recently joined a Gold's gym, but I need to find more time and the motivation to keep it up. It was easy in college to go, but it is hard full-time with a son.

It is funny that I was actually working out and in pretty good shap when i met my wife

wow that sounds great that she was able to reach her goals.

yea you really do need the surgery after losing a lot of weight, even if you lose the fat the skin is so strecthed that it will not tighten up again.

Yeah, my wife is being filmed for a pilot tv show called "Transformations" by the Bill Philips people (EAS, Body for Life guy). They filmed us a couple of months ago, but they need more footage. We are being filmed today because Bill Philips does not like people having surgery so they have to be sure to tape Val's entire segment before the surgery.

From what I have heard it is Val and another person from Hawaii being filmed...the person from Hawaii has 11 minutes of footage, and Val only has 7...so hopefully she will have some more today. I don't think my wife is being paid for it, but she wants to be an inspiration to other people who are in the position she was in.

They film her working out and us doing stuff together as a family...it has been kinda interesting...I think they like my son a lot...he is gonna be a supastar

Everything went a-ok on the first and most difficult surgery today...my wife is currently in the aftercare facility resting, and I will be bringing her home tomorrow.

How long until they are completely done with the surgeries? And how long of a recovery time does she get before the next one?

My mom is going to do that, she's losing the weight now. My cousin did it, and honestly, i would not recognize her if she walked by me on the street, she looks so different!!

**and i hear ya on the motivation/dedication part of workin out, esp with a kid!! Its SOO hard!! Mine just finally got old enough where i can put her in the daycare they have at the gym, so now really i have no more excuses for not going....**

There is about six weeks in between...but this surgery was the real tough one...she was cut in an upsidedown T on her stomach and then all the away around to her back.

My wife really made a major transformation...to the point where we recently were filmed for a Bill Philips TV show.
