Smile Veteran's Day

Lets give a moment to remember those who gave and place their lives on the line and serve in the name of "FREEDOM" I just want to write a little something and for those 7th Gen Civic members who are currently active or did your time...just like I had, I just hope this makes you feel proud and strong. I took a little bit of this from Sergeant Reiman or something like that.

I am a American Soldier, Sailor and Airman
I carry this Red, White, and Blue deep within my heart
I carry it from the day I was born till the day I would die
The life it has given me I was able to give it to others
I will take some and give all, some will take all and give some
I had done something that most citizen would not do
I am proud to say that I am a true patriot
A true soldier, sailor and airman
My duties are to fulfill my obligations
As the time of disaster hits, I am sent away
Sent around the world into areas that are unknowned
I had faught in World War 1, World War 2, Korea, Vietnam, Somalia, Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq
The life style of disaster is miserable and unforgettable
There were days that were muggy, hot, or extremely cold
I have comrades who keep my hopes up during hard times
Sometimes my boots are wet, muddy or cold
Sometimes my uniform is wet, muddy or sweaty
But that doesn't stop me, for that Red, White and Blue still burns within me
I know that I will never forget the fighting men and women who stands next to me through these times
My body is tired, so tired that I just want to collapse and give up
My hands are twitching and my eyes are feeling heavy
I think about how I would end up surviving to fight another day
I think about home, home where the bed and food is good
Home is where I can come to my family and hold them
Home is where I can spend time with my kids and wife
But home, is far, far away for me to even reach
When I had given my life to the people of the United States in their name of "FREEDOM"
I only say one thing, "I am not afraid to die for my name to be remembered throughout my generations"
As the Flag of Red, White and Blue drapped over my casket
My drive and heart will remain in that Flag
And that Flag will be passed on for generations to come
For I am an American Soldier, Sailor and Airman

It is for you my brothers and sisters in arms. I just hope you would have a wonderful Veterans Day and for those who are around you are proud of what you had done. We all know that we had done our time and will continue to support our other brothers and sisters in arms who needs to keep up their hopes up knowing that they will make it home and they will not be left behind.

i would never volunteer myself to the service. I am afraid to die, afraid to feel the feeling of dying. After seeing my grandma being lowered into her resting place a couple of months back, i put myself in her place, as if i was the one being lowered and being stared upon. My grandma was one where ANY thing hurts...just seeing her go so peacefully made me not afraid of dying anymore. If i were to be called on, i will serve. Best wishes to all our troops over seas.
