quick tire question!

quick tire question!

hey i just bought new rims and my friend has 4 brand new tires he wants to sell me but its 225/45/17 do any of u know if i will run into any problems? i know this is the wrong place to put this tread but i'm not sure if alot of people go to the wheel and suspention fourms. so i hope i would get a quicker response here

yeah you probably will(run in problems).. 225 is pretty wide and 45 series is pretty thick to begin with. i know hondaluver had 225-35/40-18 and he was rubbing at stock height.
if your car is stock height, you might be able to get away with it but eh i wouldnt take that chance. if your car is lowered, they'll most likely rub.

but yeah even 215-45-17 is thick as is, 225-45-17 is just waaay to thick.

rubbing at stock height?! I have 225/40/18 lowered 1.75" in the front and I don't rub unless I speed out of my driveway.

*shrugs* ask hondaluver. but then it also depends on offset as well as what tire brand/model.
i'm on 215-40-18 and i rub. but then i'm dropped 2.5"

im thinkin ull rub cuz when i had my civic...i was on 215/45/17 on a 2.5 drop...and i was rubbin...i had to shave the fenders
