Well why doesn't somebody try it then? It's only $3. Most likely its a gimmick, but hey, miracles may happen, haha. I would try it, but I don't want that thing burning up my ECU or something. (I want it to burn up YOUR ECU so I can hear about it)

kazell posted his findings on this before...
you can just buy a resistor for a few cents. andrew was kind enough to hook me up with one for free. it seemed to have helped. i dunno it just left it in...

Piece of crap 25 cent resistor.

after a while the comp will recognize that the signal does not fluxuate(sp) and compensate basically sending you into closed loop. it really doesnt do anything for you.i tried it on my truck a couple of different times at the track and it had absolutely no effect on my times.

the trtl body as a sencer to let the car worm up or cool down, what this resistor does is trick the ECU into thinking the car is running hot so it trys to cool itself buy running cold fluid through it...Helps in the morning when your car is cold. Helps when its hot...lol....so there you have it COLD AIR is what it comes down to

the way this works has nothing to do with running hot at all. the iat is a internal ambient temoperature sensor. so it reads the incoming air temp. if the ecu reads that cold air is coming in then it adds more fuel. colder air is denser and with out more fuel the 02 would detect a lean condition. so this resistor weakens the signal to the ecu telling it the air is colder therefore adding more fuel and a slight advance in the timing. i picked one up at my local electrical gizmo store $.50 for 2. at that price y not try it. if it worked then youd get hp for nothing if it didnt your out $.50. if you understood the way your ecu reads signals or currents from every sensor you would know its pretty safe but it really doesnt do anything.
