I had been back in So Cali Orange County area for almost a year now and so far, there hasn't been anyone with my driving skills or better.
I haven't been driving for that long maybe for 5 years at tops and I still consider myself as a beginner. Why are all of these fast and the furious jack ***** don't know how to tackle a corner at high speeds, for one thing, they don't know how to maintain and regain speed on a corner,
I had observed that most of them cut in from the inside which causes their car to slow down and more likely to lose grip somewhere along the way. I had this incident with some jackarse in a red eclipse who just gun it on a corner which only meant for 25 MPH at max but this guy was smoking his tires and its obviously that he decked out his engine just by the way the car accelerate and he could've lose traction on the way down
. Me on the other hand, I was right behind him no more than 4 feet away and my car is a freaking 2004 Civic DX with no more than 115 base HP. I wasn't even smoking my tires but the only thing that happen is that I shift the weight of my car and to make things more interesting, my car was riding just no more than 5 inches from the guard rail.
But when he and I came upon the straight away, he managed to pull away like nothing...its like a red rocket just flying away.
From that point, I knew that guy must have something under his hood.
I'm still looking for those who have my skills and I would be more satisfied if I can find someone with better skills who can get away from my **** when it comes to the corners. I had ran into this dude who drives a 2004 WRX, he asked me what I got under the hood and I told him nothing but stock. I had also tell him that I know for a fact that the WRX would spank my sorry **** on the straight away but on medium and sharp corners, I would take that WRX to school.
Most of my skills were developed in the eastern part of the country for the past 3 years, where corners are hard to compromise at high speeds, dirt and gravel would cause your vehicle to slide or even lose control. On the side of these roads, there are no guard rails and the only thing you see is a 4 foot ditch, its even harder at night because there are no street lights and you won't know what would pop out in front of you from the bushes. Its the same way with the blacktop roads.
For almost a year now being back in So Cali...where are those drivers who know what they're doing?!
Anyways, I'm not here to brag but I'm just getting real and telling you drivers the truth. Its no fun if someone who drives a fast kicking **** car who doesn't know how to take a corner correctly and its so embarrassing if they can't get away from my car which is a DX?
And NO, I did NOT learn this from the so called "GRAN TURISMO" games, I had learn this from a Army Warrant Officer 3 who is his late 30's and he is still into the racing business.
Strange...in his late 30's and still doing this kind of thing...one of these days, he might end up getting himself killed.
But I should thank him for teaching me for 3 years.

Come to the tracks bro... You will meet some of the best Ameture Road Racers around. USAFSTUD, on 7thgen, is a great driver. I have seen him many times race at willowsprings big track and streets of willow, and he owns. Passing up STI's and EVO's with his stock EX. Of course, on the straight aways he gets screwed. I'm sure there are others on this site too, but I havn't seen them road race personally. If you want a challenge, Road racing on the track is your best bet. There is an event next month on Big Willow, you should sign up!

Come to some of the canyons we got here..
Don't get all cocky cause you never met anyone that was able to challenge you. Most people on the streets are just that -- people on the streets. Come to the canyons and see how you stack up against the regulars.

Hahahahaha... try NO guard rails here, AND not a 4 foot ditch, but a 300 foot drop off a CLIFF.

Typicalwytgirl: Sure, I can teach you.
Anotherslo1: Hey man, thanks for the info. Yelps, you known the truth that straight aways are not the thing for civics. But I strongly believe that corners are usually the strong points for a low powered FF. And you say that this track is up in Willow Springs? Hell...if I have time in my busy schedule, I would sign up and see my **** gettin spanked by these pros...I would be hella satisfied because it would tell me that I would need to sharpen up my skills.
VNlilMAN: I follow.
MangoEX: Ah yes, now thats a challenge. If you're able to do that...then I bow down to you.
Everyone: I drive a automatic...even though its an auto, I can still kick **** by messing with the gears.

If you and anyone else wants tips to drive fast in the corners, remember a couple of things.. its all about smooth transition. No sudden braking, cornering, or acceleration.
Also remember your cars roadholding/handling abilities are directly affected by your tires, so don't go faster than your tires will allow you to, or you'll understeer. Also listen to your tires, they'll sing you a song as your cornering, when they're squealing they're right about at the limit of their sticking ability.

MangoEX: But a civic is a FF...then explain to me how in the world did I manage to eliminate the understeer when I had a integra before? Clearing a 15 MPH corner at 40 MPH at best which nearly cause me to hit the curb which my wheels were sitting about 2 inches from it? I have no idea how I did it...do you? Yeah, to be honest, I did near my tires squeal but it wasn't as bad though, I even tried to cause the back end tire to slid and couldn't do it. I don't think I'm Mr. Badass, I'm just wondering if there is someone else out there who are faster and better than me...thats all. Besides, if I'm defeated, at least I'll be able to pick up some tips u know...thats all it matters to me. But if you're a master at this thing, it would be a honor to learn from you.
Anyways, I'm from Disneyland, you should know where that is.

Anyways, I'm from Disneyland, you should know where that is. I'm not a master, but I do have some experience. And depending what line you took, taking a 15 mph corner @ 40 mph isn't really anything to brag about. Good for you if you were able to do it... if your integra didn't understeer, you weren't pushing it hard enough. Good driving skills isn't about if you can take a particular corner at a particular speed, it involves much more than that.

dalaw: Ok...and again, I don't think I'm Mr. Badass and I told MangoEX that! I still consider myself as a beginner...for goodness sakes mang, I've been driving for only 5 years tops. I still got a long way to go. If I can avoid running over land mines in Iraq and out manuever the enemy in Iraq, then I don't know what I can do. I'm only hoping for someone to kick my sorry slow ****...thats all.

I am HERE.
I have always bitched about how i never see 7th gen guys at autoXes and road races.
VIETSOCIETY, so you wanna race?
Any time and any track. Its all for fun. I started tracking with my car stock also. Now its a bit better in suspension wise.
i'm saving up to buy a race car now. Either a EG hb for honda challenge or a Spec Miata.
I STILL THINK THAT CANYON RUNNERS THAT THINK THAT THEY ARE FAST ARE NOT AS FAST AS THEY THINK ON A TRACK. my personal opinion and of many of the pros.

The sample pic u hav there...the track looks like fun!
I took a closer look at that Mullhoud Pass or whatever you call it, so far I can track it on the I-405 but not too many tricky roads but near the end, theres 5 hair pins, I guess thats where it gets tricky. I just hope that that pass has gutters because it'll help me a lot on the way down.
And another thing...I guess I had been misguided about Canyon Runners/Mt. Racers who are fast. You know, what I had always believe that its the driver who is the monster, not the car.
Anotherslo1: From all of the encouragements from people like you, it makes me feel better to know that there are skilled drivers like you and usafstud out there who can teach me some cool **** tricks and tips.
I'm gonna need this to beat some gooks down here in Little Saigon.

anotherslo1 is a very cool and supportive guy.
vietsociety: i agree, i don't really care what kind of cars are on the track with me. i don't care if its a ferrari 360, viper gts, or etc. most of those guys are slow anyways. i only respect drivers that have skills. you don't know how many times i pop my hood at the track since they don't believe that i only have a stock motor
i skill consider myself to be a beginner/intermediate. i wish i only had 1% the skills of any F1 driver

like to see how u stack up to the regulars on the track
canyon runners are just wannabe's to me. the road conditions are not as challenging as you think. u have to push way harder on a road race course or autoX course. yet be truly smooth. all the dumbshits with their sti and evo thinks their so fast cause they canyon run and end up rolling their cars at the track.
i believe AWD drivers are the worst drivers to me. the ones i'm talking about are the ones that didn't start tracking with a FF or RWD. they never really learned all the tricks to driving fast and smooth. their awd would save their *** on the canyons or streets. but on the track, god its funny when they keep on spinning out over and over.
anotherslo1 and i saw a evo driver spin out 3 times in one session
i encourage u to rethink ur skill level until you go to a track where everyone is fast

The **** is your problem boy? I'm tired of your **** on this site already, I tried being nice to you, leaving you alone, you're only exposing yourself to be the prickbag you are. What a narcissistic and ignorant comment. You don't even know me. You better chill out, believe me, you better
Calm down everyone, its an internet site. There is absolutely no use arguing on a forum. Solves absolutely nothing.
USAFstud - sure bro, you can stay at my place weekend after next. See you then.

USAF60STUD: Its been fun going kart racing with ya. I didn't know those things go up to 50 MPH, felt like I was gonna roll but I keep on power sliding alot...or the so called "Drift" LOL!
Thanks for letting me know that the Dromo One is near my house.
MangoEX: Ah...I would like to tell you that there were 2 pro drifters at that go kart place that USAF60STUD and I went to last night. Yeah, I guess they were there on their way to that Formula One drift and to top it off, I saw 2 of their AE86's sitting outside the parking lot. Of course it was all marked with D1 on it or something so it became obvious they were pro drifters. I'll take a look on your Mulholland Pass someday...because I finally understood how I manage to eliminate the understeer going at high speeds...plus that corner I told you about, I had never cross the double yellow line, I had always stayed in my lane when I corner it at 40MPH but to tell you this, I came close to hitting the curb which was about 2 inches away from my tires from what I believe. If I can do that, then I should manage to place my tires on the lines of the "DANGER ZONE" among the cliff or the rails.
Anotherslo1: Damn it, I just wish I can join u and USAF60STUD at Willow Springs because *Frank* told me that it cost like 225/day just to race 4 sections...thats like a whole weeks paycheck right there for me but he also told me that I can just pay 10 bucks to watch u guys for tha whole day.

On the canyons, its not a matter IF you'll f*ck up...
it's a matter of when.
