my slow 7thgen keeps putting me in front of "fast" cars. M3, Z06 vette, coutnless mercedes sports cars, two test drivers in the new legacy turbo a few months ago before it came out, a whole pile of audis, and most recently a very modified G35 coupe.

i use Brembo blank rotors/Axxis Ultimate brake pads/Motul 600 fluid/custom stainless steel brakelines
i replace my tires and brake pads every 3 month
drums in the back
replacing the drums to disk in the back won't really decrease stopping distance. the rear brakes are there to stablize the car first before the front brakes come on for real stopping
what kind of driving do u do CHEAT? autoX, road race, go karts????

I am a bit of a canyon guy, never been to a track with a car. I just had to coment cause I see so much bs flying around on this site. your post and car were so refreshing. Im so glad that someone esle understands the benifits of the drums in the back. I'm sure the track is like the canyons in the way that it filters out all the bs and leaves only talent behind. You cant buy a victory in either discipline. Where are you located in La? I am in Simi, up to the north and west of the San Fernando valley.
I have a couple of friends that are all trying to get me onto the track but I have been resisting them. I might have to give it a try though. The thought of a drive without the risk of a wreckless endangerment sounds really good.
oh, by the way, the cooling characteristics of drums a dramaticaly different then those of discs. The discs take longer to heat and longer to cool. the drums heat quickly but cool just as quickly. this comes into play on long descents when the brakes are getting very hot. having those simple, cool, reliable drums on the rear is very reasuring.

Few people will ever understand how well a 7thGen Civic could do on a track... (not 1/4")
