What do yall think about what has been happening with the Lakers?
I think Shaq is a fat, lazy bastard...so I am indifferent to him being traded even if he has amazing skill. I would trade him too the way he was yelling at Jerry Buss during preseason in games. Shaq also never said anything to support Kobe during his whole sexual assalt thing.
I hope Kobe stays...but I can live with him going to the Cippers. If he does stay I think Kobe will prove that he is the best ever...he will no longer have to save the Lakers in the forth quarter.
Phil can go too. He was so obsessed with O'neil, but he never brought his full potential out his fat ***. Shaqs free throws got worse, he was 400+ pounds, and he was constantly disrespecting everyone to the media. Phil also made innapropriate comments about Kobe's marrage (sp), which I think Kobe was always bitter over.

Just because Shaq is one of the biggest players in NBA history doesn't mean he's fat. Now Oliver Miller he's fat. Shaq was the only one that played during the finals. If Kobe is so great where was he in the finals? You cant win a title by yourself (Kobe). Even MJ had help. Buss is making the biggest mistake.
has anyone noticed Ben Wallace's FT% over Shaq's. This FT% over Shaq is getting old. Seems like that's the only thing people can say bad about him.
Bottom line Lakers are done because Kobe's just full of himself.

Shaq is prolly the third most out of shape player behind Oliver Miller and Danny Fortson.
...if Shaq was so great then why did Kobe have to pull the Lakers back into so many games in the 4th quarter??? They would have never beat San Antonio this year without Kobe...and a few years back against Portland.
...I don't understand why everyone says Kobe is selffish when Shaq is the real problem...this situation is very similiar to what happened in Orlando when Shaq left...you remember that Shaq was offended because he felt that they were treating Penny better then him...Shaq has always been just about himself and his Krispy Kremes.

He's not out of shape he's knees are just bad. what do you expect when your getting hammered every night? What happened to Penny anyways? In the NBA you need another Star to help you out. Oviously Penny needed Shaq. Bottomline Shaq makes players around him better. Kobe doesn't do that he's too busy shooting 30+ shots and where talking about this year playoffs not a few years back when Shaq was named Finals MVP. The reason why the Lakers lost the championship twice was because there were to many "individuals" on the Lakers and not enough "Team Players". No one played together, so the whole team fell apart. I say get rid of them both and start off fresh, maybe get some players that will actually like playing together. I dont care how good a player is you need a "Team" to win.

exactly the piston were just a better team, the lakers got whipped, if it wasnt for kobe it wouldve have been a sweep, bottom line piston was better and had more depth

Rep Power: 346 I think the Lakers had no identity as a team because of the diverse strengths and weaknesses of the players on the team. Most of the core players are run-and-gun type players, but Shaq never fit into that mold...everyone on the team was forced to fit in with Shaq because of how good he is, but the Lakers sacriced a lot because of it.
I'm glad Shaq's gone. I don't think that the Lakers made a good trade, but Shaq didn't want to stay in L.A so guess Lakers were forced to do it. They need to get a bigger players (tallest guy right now is 6ft 9in) to be competative.

Rep Power: 346 ...no one will take Brian Grants HUGE contract and Bad knees...it was almost better if the lakers could have gotten just Odum and Butler with no Grant...don't get me wrong, I love B Grant's game...he is just really overpaid.
with so much drama in the LBC its kinda funny being.... Hahahah, Hollyweird...
Here's another one of my wonderful predictions again:
1) Kobe: GO DIRECTLY TO JAIL. Do Not Pass Go. Do Not Collect $200... Or go to Clippers
2) Shaq + D. Wade = Heat rising in Miami
3) Malone: Will hurt his knee again and have to retire without winning a championship... I respect the guy, but I feel that he should've stayed with UTAH like Stockton and retired with them
4) Lakers will have a "decent" season but not making it to the Playoffs...

Rep Power: 0 the salary cap came in too low and the clippers offer to kobe will have to be noticeably lower or they will have to get rid of some salaries. same goes for the suns and their agreements with nash and q.

Rep Power: 0 Jerry Buss and Mitch kupcheck made a very bad decision trading shaq, the number one most dominant player in the NBA. Shaq is a player who helps out every player around him. Even though he is a great player, he allows his teammates to make contributions to the team. Unlike SHaq, Kobe doesn't have trust in his teammates. Kobe is a great great player, but he needs to let teamtes have a chance.
Hopefully, next year the lakers will play well. But, the Lakers will be lucky if they got even a 6th seed in the NBA.
