is it safe and a good idea...

i have a magnaflow exhaust and i had custom 2.25" piping with it, and around 5 RPM it kinda makes that fart sound, like ricey ish...i saw on a couple of the cars on this site (crackhead79, also has MAGNAFLOW)...saying they have a HI-FLOW cat, it makes the exhuast deep, but still loud...i wasnt sure about getting a HI-FLOW cat like others so i just put my resonator back in...and now i kinda regret it because i miss the loudness of my exhuast before...and now im thinking of getting a HI-FLOW cat, but i read somewhere that replacing your cat can be hurftul in the long run to your engine...and if i chose to do so, where can i get one and how much? ANY muffler shop??

Any one with HI-FLOW cats or wanna talk about their setup for their exhaust, help me out...thanx

I havent heard that replacing or removing your car was bad for the engine. I have removed one of my cats in favor of a hi flo (wrx has 3) and no problems. I also know many wrx owners who run catless. Only difference is that you can run leaded gasoline if you want to.
