i'd put it on if i were u, maybe a week or 2 before you get it painted...
i waited and put on my bumper AFTER it was painted... big mistake... it ended up stretching and now the paint is peeling off because the paint stretched with the bumper (even after putting flexing additive in the paint)
so i say put it on and fit it for a week or 2 so it will stretch so that when u paint it, the paint will fully stick and not peel off...
cuz its definitely not going to be a perfect fit... only thing that is perfect fit is OEM

^ you are right about the stretching thing. Some people do put it on to stretch the bumper first, then get it painted so the paint doesn't crack.
PUT IT ON AT NIGHT TIME WHILE IT'S PARKED??? hah
It is P-Urethane right?

its always better to wait before you put it on. it will be easier to prepare when your about to paint it. if you leave it off there wont be splattered bugs, tar, grease, oil, or whatever

i think if you had a black civic, then you'd be able to pull it off.. but black on silver....
lease:
So i'd just wait.
That stretching idea sounds good though.

Do not put it on and drive with it till it is painted you will get oils and dirt stuck in the mold and you will regret it when it goes into paint because if they dont sand it and wipe it clean you will have nice bumps and holes in the paint.. not huge holes but small tiny pin holes..

do it!
